Twelve days out from Inauguration Day, the Obama campaign is still asking supporters for money.
The campaign's latest email solicitation makes the startling claim that the upcoming inauguration will be the "most...accessible inauguration in our nation's history." In fact, it will be among the least accessible inaugurations in the nation's history as an unprecedented security dragnet descends on the nation's capital.
Here is the email sent out today:
Friend --On January 20th, our journey to bring change will officially begin.
We're organizing the most open and accessible inauguration in our nation's history. And we're doing it without contributions from Washington lobbyists or big corporations.
Just like we did on the campaign, we're relying entirely on supporters like you -- ordinary people giving whatever they can afford to make this an event for all Americans.
I know we've asked a lot of you. But changing the way business is done in Washington will take a commitment from all of us. Right now, you can help give this administration a strong start.
And if you make a donation of any amount before midnight tonight, you could be selected to come to Washington, D.C., and be part of the welcome ceremony, the swearing in, the Inaugural Parade, and the Inaugural Community Ball.
Make a donation of $5 or more and be part of the historic moment you made possible.
We have a long road ahead of us, and we're going to face some major challenges as soon as we start. But I know I can count on you every step of the way.
Thank you for everything you've done and happy New Year,
Barack
P.S. -- You could be there for this historic moment even if you cannot make a donation. You can show your support by sharing what this Inauguration means to you. Learn more here: [LINK]
I once vowed I would never watch the following movies:
Pretty Woman,
Queen Of The Damned,
Jersey Girl
Well, out of morbid curiosity I did. I’m watching the Obama inauguration so that way I get it out of my head sooner. I won’t think about it to the point where I break and watch.
*For further reference, I regret polluting my mind.
Translation: Just in case voting for Obama didn't entirely prove to your friends and neighbors that you had lost all mental faculties, give us some more money and make it crystal clear to everyone that you are a brainwashed fool.
Be careful. Remember the evangelical pastor who prayed for rain on Obama’s convention acceptance speech? Instead he got a hurricane during the GOP convention.
I hope it is the coldest, wettest January 20th that DC has ever seen or will ever see again. Spiteful of me to wish that? Yep, sure is.
Actually, we should pray for sunshine, warm temperatures and all around beautiful weather. Let Obama get just what he’s asking for. I think that if all these people come, a disaster awaits. There’s way too many people planing to come and DC is keeping the bars open until 4am. I just hope that the MSM reports what really happens. It may open some eyes. Maybe.
**Looking at the extended forecast for DC (which only goes through the 17th) the weather there is going to be in the 30s. It could be a cold miserable day for attendees...**
Do you think Al “Global Warming” Gore will be present?
Are they still accepting anonymous credit card donations through their intentionally disabled credit card acceptence scam?
