Twelve days out from Inauguration Day, the Obama campaign is still asking supporters for money.
The campaign's latest email solicitation makes the startling claim that the upcoming inauguration will be the "most...accessible inauguration in our nation's history." In fact, it will be among the least accessible inaugurations in the nation's history as an unprecedented security dragnet descends on the nation's capital.
Here is the email sent out today:
Friend --On January 20th, our journey to bring change will officially begin.
We're organizing the most open and accessible inauguration in our nation's history. And we're doing it without contributions from Washington lobbyists or big corporations.
Just like we did on the campaign, we're relying entirely on supporters like you -- ordinary people giving whatever they can afford to make this an event for all Americans.
I know we've asked a lot of you. But changing the way business is done in Washington will take a commitment from all of us. Right now, you can help give this administration a strong start.
And if you make a donation of any amount before midnight tonight, you could be selected to come to Washington, D.C., and be part of the welcome ceremony, the swearing in, the Inaugural Parade, and the Inaugural Community Ball.

True indeed. The ones who clamor the loudest about social justice and redistribution never actually practice it themselves. It’s only for “the little people.” The communist elite live large and are justified because they are the smart ones in charge. After all, SOMEBODY has to take care of the rabble, and the ones that do need extra resources, of course.

$200 mil and a cup of coffee might get you a senate seat now. Clinton's big priority as president was collecting money. I'd expect the same here, squared. I'd say a billion plus, to start, might get you going.
Ironic, then, how his most popular song is perfect for the incoming administration, because after all, they’re halfway there, living on a prayer. Just take Obama’s hand - “we’ll make it,” he swears!
Just makes me all gooey inside thinking about how we’re on the verge of all that hope and change!

I got this email twice today. Once from Obama and then a copy of it from David Plouffe. A few days ago Michelle Obama sent me basically the same email too. The only difference is they always ask me for $25. Maybe I should mark them as spam.....
She’d be smart to promote Romney as her Sec of Commerce or Treasury, he’s still got a ton of followers in the northeast who are very well heeled. I agree though, this cycle I’m going to give until it hurts.
