good catch - thanks. I’ve added them to the list:
Senators Seats (re-elections, retirements, term completions) 2010:
McCain (AZ) (R)
Voinovich (OH) (R)
Gregg (NH) (R)
Specter (PA) (R)
Burr (NC) (R)
Mel Martinez (FL) (R) (retiring - open seat)
Sam Brownback (KS) (R) (retiring - open seat)
Kit Bond (MO) (R) (retiring - open seat)
Bayh (IN) (D)
Lincoln (AR) (D)
Dorgan (ND) (D)
Salazar (CO) (D)
Reid (NV) (D)
Clinton (NY) (D) (seat will be filled for the balance of 09-10)
Biden (DE) (D) (seat will be filled for the balance of 09-10)
Obama/Burris (IL) (D) (seat will be filled for the balance of 09-10)
LA’s Vitter is also highly vulnerable.
You forgot that Salazar (CO) will be replaced by his brother, whom I heard is a weaker candidate.
Is’nt Salazar taking over Interior, so his seat will be need a challenge.
Also Issakson-R, Vitter-r, Boxer-d, Wyden-d, vitter-R,Leahy-D,Lincoln-D.Murkowski-R.Inoue-D,Dorgan-D, Bayh-D,Crappo-R,Bunning-R,Fiengold-D,Grassley-R,Bennett-R, Bennet-d (co)Burris-D(Il) Spcials in Delaware,New York and probably Massachetts. It looks to me like another rough cycle. Some polls show Issakson in trouble in Georgia and Burr in North Carolina.I suspect Bunning in Kentucky does notstand a chance yet is bound to run for reelection. Reid is the only Dem in trouble. I remember reading some time ago that Bayh in Indiana was getting tired of the Senate. Maybe he will not run for reelection. Unless some of the appointed Senators have trouble it looks like another disaster.
There are so many “RINO” Republicans running for re-election to the Senate in ‘10 that it really makes the chances for serious conservative gains even more difficult! This list is really so depressing, IMHO! I’m keeping my reluctant prediction that “U.S. conservatism” remains a political minority for, at least, sixty years, if not even longer. There really will be too many U.S. voters who will have “drank the pro-leftist, socialism kool-aid” by ‘10 and beyond, and this doesn’t even include all of the other added leftist votes, during all future U.S. elections, from additional criminals, from more of the dead, from other illegal votes that are also counted, and from additional votes made throughout the U.S. by illegal immigrants, who both leftists and “elitist” Republicans will also create with legal legislation, so illegal immigrants can vote in all future U.S. elections. How can “U.S. conservatism” quickly, seriously, and successfully rebound from all of these leftist political maneuvers, which suppress all of conservatism even further and longer? Depressing!
