A House special committee is proposing to impeach Gov. Rod Blagojevich, paving the way for a historic impeachment vote quickly.
A 69-page report posted on the Web site of the committee investigating impeaching the governor this morning finds that the totality of the evidence warrants the impeachment of the governor for cause.
The committee meets today at 3 p.m., where it could vote on the report and recommend impeachment to the full House. No sitting Illinois governor has been impeached before.

The Lords Senate Appointee, Roland Burris, is in Springfield to testify in front of the Balgojevich impeachment committee as part of a deal that will lead to Burris eventually being seated as Senator. The primary reason for the Burris questioning is to make sure there is no taint with the Burris appointment, but lawmakers are promising to be tough. Said Rep. Mike Bost (R-Carbondale), I would like to specifically ask, under oath, if there was any quid pro quo for the appointment. But thats not all.
Committee members also plan to ask Burris about contributions to the governors campaign, how Blagojevichs wife got a job with a group affiliated with Burris business partner and why the governors criminal lawyer approached Burris about the Senate instead of a staff member.
Great job...posted “the baby” Kept it small and referred folks to the big one.
Blago will resign moments before being impeached.
