Pelosi's Power Grab: Her Plan to Shackle the GOP
Newsmax ^ | January 7, 2009 | Jim Meyers

Republican Rep. Roy Blunt tells Newsmax that rule changes pushed through the House on Tuesday by the Democratic majority leave “the deck stacked to shove a Speaker Pelosi agenda through the House.”

The former Minority Whip from Missouri also declared that the changes are an “absolute contradiction to everything Barack Obama said” about nonpartisan politics during the campaign.

One change puts new restrictions on motions to “recommit” a bill to the committee that approved it in order to add new amendments.

The new rule allows the full House to reconsider a bill without delay, depriving the minority party of an opportunity to add its input on the proposed legislation.

Either it does the country good, and we all benefit (yeah, right) or it does the country harm. It’s up to the American people to act appropriately.

I agree with you, but what if they bring us to the point where we don't have a say anymore?

It took less than two years of Clinton and a Dem Congress to result in a Repub takeover of Congress in the next election.

Somehow I can’t help feeling that the Communists Party (RATS) have finally taken American by the ba!!s and will do so much damage we may never recover without a huge uprising. Kiss conservatism goodbye.

With Gop voters to shackle the party, who needs Peloski?

GOP should grow a pair and win back the house and senate in 2010.

GOP won’t though because we are more worried about running peoples personal lives then fixing the system.

I wish Goldwater was still here.

“The dems are going to ruin this country. Right now there is simply no stopping it.”
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Like you I blame the dems more than the rinos but the truth is it is a done deal, they aren’t “going to ruin this country”, it is already ruined. I have seen it happening for forty years and more and I decided long ago that there was no way it was going to be stopped. It is like watching a red spot turn into a swelling and then develop a yellow head, it is now in the process of popping and oozing puss all over everything.

This is Pelosi’s way of being more bipartisan, remember what she said last year - “But I do tell you that if the Democrats win, and have substantial majorities, Congress of the United States will be more bipartisan”.

Good catch.

I hope the pubbies make a stink. Maybe a walkout. News coverage would be good.

But there wasn’t a huge amnesty of illegal aliens to swell Democrat ranks back then. Amnesty will be passed this year without a doubt, and I can’t see a way for Republicans to ever recover from it.
