THE Gaza Strip has been turned into a "concentration camp" by two weeks of Israeli bombardments, said a senior Vatican official. Cardinal Renato Martino, the Vatican's justice and peace minister, was quoted by the online Italian daily Il Sussidiario. "Let's look at the conditions in Gaza: these increasingly resemble a big concentration camp," said Cardinal Martino.

They said, rubbing their hands with glee...
The vatican should stick to otherworldly concerns.
Egypt could always open the border with Gaza and let those Palis that want to move to SA head over there. But they don’t.
Why not let them all go into Iran since Iran has been in Gaza so long.
I’m saying this as a Catholic who gets really angry at the bashing of Pope Pius: The Church should be very careful about using Holocaust-related phrases like “concentration camp”. Especially when there’s no justification for the comparison. And even more especially when the term is being used to criticize the victims of the Holocaust.
This guy should go check ou the gas chambers in the real concentration camps. I do not recall the Jews in the camps shooting rocets at Berlin. Defrock this kook.
That is sick.
right. Gazans can always get on a boat and seek asylum in Italy right?
I’m very disturbed that my church would say this....after saying nothing that 52% of American Catholics voted for a man who supports murdering the unborn.
The UN has turned Gaza into a concentration camp and it’s been an ongoing project for them over the last 60 years.
It's primarily a concentration of terrorists and their sympathizers. ....the most dense concentration of the above in the world, in all probability. I hope the Cardinal isn't comparing it to Nazi concentration camps. That would be the height of idiocy. ...to be kind about it.
There's the problem...
I’ve got 2 words for the pope: “Crusades” and “Indulgences”. Now back to our regularly scheduled program of real Christianity.
“....after saying nothing that 52% of American Catholics voted for a man who supports murdering the unborn.”
You took the words out of my mouth.
A concentration camp?
With the camp “prisoners” having weapons and missiles, waiting to attack the “guards”?
Perhaps not the best descriptor to use on this situation, eh?
Wouldn’t “someone else” have to use force, and kill some people, to “make” them “come to an agreement”?
It appears there’s some bias here, since the situation wasn’t described as “two armed camps” that can’t come to an agreement.
I wonder if Cardinal Martino would also comment on the molestation of young boys by Catholic priests worldwide?
Except that you can’t leave a concentration camp.
Undoubtely they have some brave young priests willing to do that ~
Watch the slurs of the Holy Father pal. You aren’t fit to shine his shoes.
Gaza needs to NOT shoot rockets off at their neighbor, the neighbor would be a whole lot less likely to invade your space that way.
Must be a very hard concept for some to understand.
And our church needs to smarten up a bit, very disappointing.
