McCain to launch new PAC [to "help define the future of the GOP"]

WASHINGTON (CNN)—Arizona Senator John McCain is adopting a major 2008 campaign slogan for a new political action committee designed to support not only his own planned re-election run in two years, but help him put his stamp on the rebuilding of the Republican Party.

The formation of the “Country First” PAC is to be announced Wednesday, two sources familiar with the plans tell CNN.

One of the sources called it the “first official step” of the GOP Senator’s re-election campaign. McCain made it clear not long after losing the presidential election that he intended to seek re-election to the Senate in 2010.

The second source said that in addition to supporting his own political ambitions, “Country First” would be a financial vehicle to help McCain “help define the future of the GOP by recruiting candidates and driving the agenda.”

Every where I turn I see someone is starting a “movement” for something or another, can we start one to kick him out of the Republican party before he manages to destroy it and all of us along with it?

I would rather give money to Hamas than McCain.

(And I am a Zionist extraordinaire.)

I agree. I pray someone opposes him in the primary. I will never place a vote for him again.

“I agree. I pray someone opposes him in the primary. I will never place a vote for him again.”

What do you think, Carolyn, is there a place for Hayworth to challenge him? Or is Hayworth washed up in Az? The GOP won’t back a conservative. I just hope there is someone to go against him worthwhile. Many of us not in Az will help!

If you'd like to donate to the KLA you could just give it to McCain.

John McCain armed Kosovo Islamic terrorists

I was thinking a more appropriate name would be "RPAC" for "RINO PAC" or "PAC-o-RINOS" for "Pack of Rinos".

The proper term for a group of rinos is a crash of rinoceroses. Or a stubborness of rinoceroses. Either one would be appropriate as well, given McCain's nature and the train wreck he made of the campaign.

Yeah, I wonder if Mrs. MWT would figure out what I was up to if I bought her rimless glass, had her put her hair up, and got her a jaguar skirt.

"Country First" was a nonstarter slogan for a nonstarter candidate. May he and his PAC sink without a trace. He is exactly what a competitive GOP does not need.

“McCain, please just change your party affiliation and be done with it.”

Quit using the word “please.”

These folks do not understand polite talk or polite anything. Rather, they look at it as a weakness.

I am not convinced he won’t try to run again in 2012. The man is mad.

If he is re-elected in 2010, he may well sound it out, but I don't see him becoming a factor. He blew out his base and there won't be a Sarah Plain to save him.
