Some good news here -- and not totally unexpected.
In tough economic times I would expect to see sales of luxuries and big-ticket items to decline dramatically -- while sales of everyday necessities are solid (at best) or flat (at worst).

This is not GOOD economic news. It's a spike because people are stocking and, in this case, buying Christmas stuff.
