Obama vows 'plenty' to say on Mideast after swearing-in

WASHINGTON (AFP) – US president-elect Barack Obama Tuesday vowed to speak out about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict once he takes office, but insisted until then only President George W. Bush can speak for the US.

"After January 20 I am going to have plenty to say about the issue," Obama told reporters, fending off criticism that he has failed to forcefully address the Israeli military onslaught on the Gaza Strip.

Obama said he was sticking by his campaign pledge that "at the beginning of our administration, we are going to engage effectively and consistently in trying to resolve the conflict that existed in the Middle East.

"I think it is not only right for the people in that region, most importantly, it is right for the national security of the American people and the stability that is so important to this country.

"So on January 20, you will be hearing directly from me," he vowed.

"Until then, my job is to monitor the situation, put together the best possible national security team so that we hit the ground running once we are responsible for national security issues..."

"This is Obama whom the American machine of lies tried to portray as the rescuer who will change the policy of America. He kills your brothers and sisters in Gaza mercilessly and without affection," a Palistinian spokesman added.

The first thing that comes to mind after reading that headline is what Biden said before the election. I don’t know the exact quote but all of us who have been following Obama and Biden know what I’m talking about.

He said that this is what he would do. Obama’s loyalty will be with Ahmadnutjob. So, Israel should take care of the nuclear tyrant in her own region before BO gets sworn in and while she still has US Support.

my job is to monitor the situation, put together the best possible national security team

So why did put that political hack, Penetta, in charge of the CIA?

' so that we hit the ground running once we are responsible for national security issues...

Well, at least that would be entertaining, put to music. I thought it was hillarious when Jackie Chan was singing it.

It's a double entendre. "Good night and good luck"; i.e., "You're on your own now; it's been nice knowing you, buddy." Zed/Bid will stand with, beside, behind, and in front of NO ONE.

Then there's the Murrow v the government thing. My how things change over time.

"Good Night, and Good Luck. is a 2005 film directed by George Clooney and written by Clooney and Grant Heslov that portrays the conflict between veteran radio and television journalist Edward R. Murrow and U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin, especially relating to the anti-Communist Senator's actions with the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations.

The movie, although released in black and white, was filmed on color film stock but on a grayscale set, and was later color corrected to black and white during post-production. It focuses on the theme of media responsibility, and also addresses what occurs when the media offer a voice of dissent against the government. The movie takes its title from the line with which Murrow routinely closed his broadcasts. "

Doing what he does best, watching out for Rahm Emanuel.

He will be saying, “Screw the Jews”, too.
