Dang, Ditter, you are so right. I moved the family out here to Texas three years ago, thinking we were moving to paradise, but damn if it isn’t just like you say.

I’ve been telling all of my liberal family members back in California to stay put - this place’ll kill ‘em if they come out - what, with all the critters, and the heat, the icy temps in the winter, loud fools with big hats, country music all day and night wherever you go, bikers on Harleys, and everybody packing heat, etc. /sarc

Apparently, they’ve been keeping this a secret until just lately.

I guess I’d forgotten they had moved it that far along with funding, etc. I now remember reading something about the mayor of Lockhart being all enthused about the road coming near them.

Oh you poor things, bless your hearts! You left a real paradise (California) to move to Texas. Maybe we can take up a collect to move you back!

Morphing the meaning of RINO to fit into your disagreements with Perry is just as “fashionable”. Texas is the only thing keeping America afloat, but don’t let that stop you from slowing it down. Get yourself grounded in reality.

"I prefer to seek out the most hard core political opponents and discourage them from participating in future political activity" (You know where I got that...)

So do I. Check how long it has been since RINO Rick (supposedly) quit being a Democrat...

If it waddles like a RINO, acts like a RINO and tolls like a RINO... it is either McCain or Goodhair... And, if it tries to sell off Texas to foreigners, then it da*n sure is a RINO!

I am usually more convinced when presented with substance, not slogans or conjecture.

Maybe you should stop worrying about getting your picture taken with Globalist RINOs and see who got us into this mess. (except for JR, of course)

Just a thought.

Albeit a shallow one.

From Bio in Wikipedia:
“Texas Legislature

In 1984, Perry was elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat from a district (64) that included his home county of Haskell. He served on the important House Appropriations and Calendars committees during his three terms. One of the freshman legislators that he befriended was Lena Guerrero of Austin, a staunch Democratic liberal who endorsed Perry’s reelection bid in 2006 on personal, rather than philosophical, grounds. Perry was part of the “Pit Bulls,” a group of Appropriations members who sat on the lower dais in the committee room (or “pit”) who pushed for austere state budgets during the lean 1980s. In 1989, The Dallas Morning News named him one of the most effective legislators in the 71st legislature.

In 1989, Perry announced that he was joining the Republican Party.”

I can well understand those in the immediate vicinty being not so thrilled. I had a state row acquisition for a road expansion to a piece of property I owned over in LA that essentially took all that property as the part not used for roadway was useless because access was cut off. I got a fair market value but would have been happy to have retained the property.

My Wife's Uncle lives on a dead-end road with a few other property owners. Hopefully they'll build an overpass. If not, it might be a long trip to town.

“Trust but Verify”, and learn not to trust.

They have just turned the Trans Texas Corridor into ‘jello’ so you can’t nail it to the wall.

The new name is “Innovative Connectivity Plan”

Here is a 20 page PDF file on the ‘new’ plan:

I ask for substance, and you give me this?

"In 1989, Perry announced that he was joining the Republican Party."

I was a democRAT until 83'

What is the cut-off date for switching from RAT to GOP which makes one a RINO?

Now you'll start seeing astroturfers and other supporters of TTC start coming in calling everyone 'tinfoilers' and saying there is no such thing anymore.

It's as predictable as the sunrise.
