The campaign was conceived by Ariane Sherine, a comedy writer who dreamed of just one bus going around London with an atheist slogan after she saw a similar advertisement for Christianity on the back of a bus.

The conscience is the part of your mind that actively weighs the pros and cons of all your actions, keeping past experiences as a guide. As long as you realize the benefits of living in a secure society, and the importance of the reciprocity of good that is the glue to all productive societies, your conscience will weigh against you trying to blindly follow your desires.
Making any sense?
It perfectly merits the statement that it replied to.
LOL See #83.
Hitler was very much into Nietzsche and his philosophy. Are you allergic to the truth?
And are you allergic to the meaning of responsibility?
What does one person not believing in a fantasy have to do with an entirely different person committing war-crimes?
Simple logic must have evaded you all this while, I suppose.
((((snicker))))
That's what Muslims say. Jesus is a "historical figure" and was a "great teacher."
LOL
Islam incorporates portions from the Judeo-Christian Bible written as Mohammed saw fit but elements of Islam do not stem from the Judeo-Christian Bible, they stem from a totally separate religious tradition (the moon god).
The moon god part isn’t added on to the “end” of the Bible.
Buddhists and Hindus would be sad to hear that they are minor faiths. Obama counts them as equals to the other 3.
There may be a billion muslims but Islamic nations are not known for religious freedoms. Muslims are prohibited from converting away from the faith (sometimes under penalty of death) while religious texts of faiths other than Islam are prohibited. If there is no freedom of religion, it is unfair to consider all persons in that country to be members of the religion in “good faith”.
And none of this round and round and round discussion has bupkiss to do with a message on the side of a bus.
If he wanted to be “outrageous” and “make a statement” he should have denounced Islam as a fairytale and a waste of energy and “worry”.
Or perhaps, as I suggested, deny the myth of man made global warming.
Do Andrew Sullivan’s columns count as fairy tales?
He had to include the “probably”. Otherwise he’d simply be announcing himself to be an idiot. Only a true maroon tries to prove a negative.
Atheism is an announcement of one’s incredible stupidity.
While Islam is one of the primary Abrahamic religions, it was certainly influenced by the culture of the time and place in which it was founded.
Buddhists and Hindus would be sad to hear that they are minor faiths.
Who said they were? Of the 5 faiths mentioned, only Judaism could fairly be described as a "minor" faith on the basis of its number of adherents (0.23% of the world population).
Obama counts them as equals to the other 3
Why shouldn't he?

I think criticisms of Islam on the basis of its resultant effect upon societies in which it's dominant are well-founded.
Then you would have to worry that everybody had a well formed conscience.Feign belief is a waste of time but so it that sign.:)
All right then, for the record: It's his money to spend as he pleases, although I'd be surprised if this particular message influenced more than a handful of people in any meaningful way.
Last estimate is 6-8 million killed by the NAZIs.
I do not confuse anything.
Philosophy, politics, theology, atheism. They are all enmeshed in civilization. When one grows strong, it dominates the others. History has shown that when the atheism of communist and socialist regimes grows strong, it has little regard for human life.
My leader died for me. Your leaders kill for you.
It's a shame you confuse worldly ambition with the word of the Gospel, which is that we have a savior who died for us, all we need to do is accept that gift of grace. After we do that, we are saved UNTO good works, not BY good works, and that this world is only temporary and filled with horrors (some beauty, but many horrors) and that our willful decision here determine whether we spend eternity with our creator and savior or alone . If it isn't in the heart, you aren't truly saved.
Again, I don't understand why those who do not believe feel so compelled to convince others that what they are looking at doesn't really exist.
What possible gain is there? Oh, right. As he said in his ad “Enjoy yourself.”
Well, the assumption there (and his ad is riddled with logical fallacies) is that if you believe in God, you aren't enjoying yourself. I believe in God and I enjoy myself immensely.

If I read the stories rightly, Dawkins offered to match up to 5000 pounds if the atheist newspaper writer could drum up that much in donations. Her donation page wound up going over 100,000 pounds, so Dawkins isn’t paying for most of it.
If, of course, you are a secular socialist/communist that believes in a Stalinist/Bolsheviki approach to government.
I really don't care what people choose to eat or not to eat. But, you're right. It seems like vegetarians just pine for the moment the waiter asks them what they want so they can say, “What do you have that is vegetarian.” It's like they're just dying to have the conversation evolve around them.
And have you ever noticed how many vegetarians have the same intro. “I started it for health reasons. But then, after a while, I kind of had trouble with the morality of killing animals.” This, of course, is a passive-aggressive way of insulting anyone who eats meat.
So, here's what you do. If you don't particularly care about the vegan-moaralist trying to shove their morality down your throat (which is exactly what they're doing), the next time they do so at a restaurant, wait for a pause in the conversation and ask:
“So is it true that your shi* sinks in the toilet bowl rather than float because it doesn't have animal fat in it?”
