Burris was appointed by a sitting Governor.

Like it or not, IL Governor is still the legal chief exec of that state. Thus, he has every legal right to fill the empty Senate seat according to Federal and Illinois law.

At the time of the appointment, the Governor was still the governor.

When this hits the US Supreme Court, they will side with the Governor.

You are exactly correct!

The appointment of Burris to be US Senator is completely within the law and is free of any ethical stain.

Governor Blagojevich, though a pain in the ass he is, has every right to make this appointment and Sec of State Jesse White and Harry Reid have no business or right blocking him from taking office.

Harry Reid must view himself to be high nobility for the way he runs the Senate. When I watch Reid in action, I’m reminded of the Latin phrase “Sic semper tyrannis” - Thus always to tyrants.

unless i read something wrong, he was turned away because his paperwork was not in order. what i actually heard yesterday is that it hadn’t been signed by the secretary of state.
