Its not conservatives who are pushing neocons and moderates out of the GOP. Its the other way around. Conservatives have been given short shrift from the Republicans. Pseudo-conservatives were, and still are, in control of the GOP and have pushed conservatives aside.
Conservatives, despite their displeasure, stood by the likes of Bush and McCain. If fact we stood so close by them that when the Republican party put a gun to its head and pulled the trigger, the bullet went right through and wounded us.
Trying to change the Republican party from within is a losing battle.
“Trying to change the Republican party from within is a losing battle.”
Your alternative, for the second time?
And your prediction for the results, of your alternative?
Timetable, number of elected representatives?
How many in the US House and Senate got elected from a 3rd party, now and in “recent history?”
Most of what I hear from “true conservatives” is moaning about their demise, blaming the media, blaming other Republicans by name calling, threats to go do something non-sensical, and more blaming.
I seldom hear about rational, planned, effective efforts.
** By the way, in my adult life the GOP HAS BEEN changed. It is now dominated by southern white Christians. Thirty-five years ago those folks were democrats.
And the people who were Republicans 35 years ago are the ones that many want to push out of the party, now.
All I say is that everybody has to STAY IN the party, find common ground, and work towards winning.
