This is also probably correct. You see, bottled water is often only processed and filtered to “Food Grade”: very clean compared with, say, puddle-water or rain-water.
Water from most civilized city systems is usually processed to “Drinking Water Grade”: which is a much higher standard than “Food Grade”. I believe it is an order of magnitude cleaner (I stand to be corrected on that).
MORAL OF THE STORY: People who buy bottled water are mugs. They are paying their left nut for an inferior product.
I have no difficulty believing that bottled water would go “off” if left in the back of a pickup truck. None at all.
