UPDATED - ALERT - Frightening Text Messages Being Forwarded Around NY Jews January 2, 2009 3:00PM EST: [UPDATE BELOW] With the situation in Gaza deteriorating by the day, and anti-semitism rampant around the world, thousands of NY Jews were frightened upon receiving the following text message which has been going around on Friday afternoon:
“A Jewish woman gave a tip to a Muslim taxi driver and out of appreciation he warned her not to go to Manhattan next week Wednesday.”
YWN has reached out to high-ranking members of the NYPD, and have stated that although they received the same text message, “there are no credible threats to be concerned about - and don’t even know where this text message originated from”.
The only message that they do have for the public is the same message that they have been saying since 9/11. That message is “always be aware of your surroundings, be vigilant, and if you see anything suspicious contact the police department immediately to report what you have seen”.
UPDATE 3:50PM EST: YWN has just spoken with NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind who tells us that he has received various reports regarding this ‘threat’ and has personally contacted the FBI who is currently investigating them.
He thanked YWN for our alert to calm the public, and echoed the call for calm and vigilance at anytime and any location. “If you see something, say something,” Hikind said.
“The FBI and the NYPD take these types of threats very seriously, and investigate them thoroughly to ensure the safety of the public.”

it is possible they know the Ashura parade will be just like it is overseas, with real blood streaming down their faces, and a violent attitude
also, Sunnis and Shias are not really friends and Ashura is a Shia holiday, so maybe the Sunnis are planning to stage something against their own Muslim infidels?? And since the Christian/Jew infidel is not Shia/Sunni...

I responded to just keep it out of sunlight, he nodded and said he has a little stored up for food and water
Some people here think that reporting a threat is equivalent to predicting a threat and time and place
And I complain about the 10 minute delays I sometimes have to deal with if I leave work during our busy time of day!!

it was her son who had the conversation with the cabbie, since she is involved in exposing Islamic threats, she is used to comments and inforamtion like this
however, when she heard this from her son, she was quite concerned and started making phone calls
so stop with the tinfoil cr@p. there were no cabbies who called in sick. there were no students who said the towers would not be there next week. there were no jews who stayed away from the towers that day.

There have been several ugly antisemitic incidents in western Europe in connection with Israel-Hamas conflict. If you have seen film of the pro-Hamas rallies in various US cities, you get the impression that street violence against Jews and Israel supporters will soon erupt. Nazi types, for sure.
There seems to be a connection between the brazenness of the pro-Hamas demonstrators and the pending ascendency of "Osama" Obama. In fact, at least one MSM report states that there is some overlap in personnel from the Obama campaign to the pro-Hamas agitation in the US.

We also explained how it has nothing to do with some old left wing SNOPES article claimning something that happened years ago is somehow connected to what happened in the last 3 days

I looked up freeperfromnj and was shocked to find that the account has been either banned or suspended!
When did that happen? Does anybody know.
Freeperfromnj commuted into NYC everyday and had firsthand reports of the level of security there. She talked about the ME fruit vendor right outside of Penn Station (?) who disappeared after 9/11.
If there are any other NYC folks with that kind of information, could you weigh in? Does anyone know where she posts now?

Wrong. The Brooklyn kid story was real (I know NYPD who investigated). The kid's father left the US on the 10th and didn't come back.
I own real estate in the area. The Egyptian owner of an apartment directly below one of my rentals left around the 8th and never came back. The co-op is still in his name, still fully furnished and still vacant.
The Saudi neighbor of one of my sisters in upscale Bergen County left the Saturday before and has not returned.
I believe (as do the LEOs I know in the NYC area) that there is some discussion, however vague, about plans in the area mosques. That is why I will not trust or befriend a single muslim.
As to this cabbie thing...I don't buy it. Cabbies have picture IDs in the cars. Anybody receiving a kindly warning would get the name and report the driver.

Cabbies are picture ID identified in the back seat of the cab. Hoaxing about an event with your name and picture in plain sight is asking for a knock on the door and about as stupid as one can get.
