The USA is being infiltrated by illegals, sold to foreign powers and abandoned by its government. But are Americans enabling the dissolution of our economy and country as well by continuing to buy foreign goods?

It ain’t rocket science. Foreign companies have been using the decline of U.S. manufacturing and desperation for jobs to create Third World/low cost type manufacturing plants close to their largest market.
No bingo required.
Oh - I see - you want everyone else to take a pay cut.
He gets it!
I agree, and I wish I’d seen the bio of Tom Selleck. I guess I’ll just have to put on “Magnum, P.I.” later :-).
What a shame that he has only one child. :)
Kind of ironic, half the posters here are of the “America as the first universal nation” Ben Wattenburg thesis school. Always quick to bring out the past sins of America to heap upon the enemies of liberalism if some imaginary line of insensitivity is broached. The other half spends too much time trying to placate the first half insisting that they are respectable to liberals instead of putting the effeminate emotional half in the docket for complicity with failing liberalism.
I must be looking at the wrong place then.
What a loss to the gene pool!
My thought as well. :)
“One of the few actors out there who actually has a grain of sense.”
And yet he back the Huckster. Go figure.
Obviously, you don’t get what I was trying to say. Your emotions are clouding your brain.
“Where the heck are you shopping? I’ve seen Carhartt jeans for $30 at Tractor Supply. In fact, I have a pair on now and love them. They’ve outlasted the cheap imports several times over and still look good enough to wear to work.”
THANK YOU!
I’ve given up on trying to educate people here on FR about “you get what you pay for.” And “Americans work when you buy American made goods.”
I have my own business. I take a paycut every time the price of something goes up that I can’t pass on in my own price increases. I have no patience for people who are hiding behind nationalism in order to get themselves overpaid and underworked.
Assuming the market is large enough, the level of exchange isn't nearly as important as stability and an equal playing field (i.e., not trying to compete with business owners using illegal labor when you are not). We are killing ourselves by exporting our wealth to other nations in order to get a quick “cheap goods” fix. Trade imbalances are real, permanent transfers of wealth with permanent and severe consequences.
So, we have no patience for each other and are both self-righteous idiots. You are using nationalism as a cover for your greed. I use no cover for my greed.
LOL
Actually I’m a business owner (sort of - more like I own a job right now). I’m not trying to take yours - I just want the boat to float everyone up.
We have two fundamental economic problems in the US - we are digging a debt hole that cannot be filled and we are exporting our wealth to other nations - many of which are enemies.
“Actually Im a business owner (sort of - more like I own a job right now). Im not trying to take yours - I just want the boat to float everyone up.”
That sounds like welfare to me. forget protectionism, you might as well just give everyone a check every month. the effect will be the same. I want the boat to float those who have earned the floating.
