A donor’s gift soon followed Clinton’s help $100,000 donation highlights ethics issues with links to foundations By CHARLIE SAVAGE WASHINGTON - An upstate New York developer donated $100,000 to former President Bill Clinton’s foundation in November 2004, around the same time that Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton helped secure millions of dollars in federal assistance for the businessman’s mall project. Mrs. Clinton helped enact legislation allowing the developer, Robert J. Congel, to use tax-exempt bonds to help finance the construction of the Destiny USA entertainment and shopping complex, an expansion of the Carousel Center in Syracuse. Mrs. Clinton also helped secure a provision in a highway bill that set aside $5 million for Destiny USA roadway construction. Story continues below ↓ advertisement | your ad here The bill with the tax-free bonds provision became law in October 2004, weeks before the donation, and the highway bill with the set-aside became law in August 2005, about nine months after the donation. Mr. Congel and Philippe Reines, a spokesman for Mrs. Clinton, both said there was no connection between his donation and her legislative work on his project’s behalf. Mrs. Clinton supported the expansion of Carousel mall “purely as part of her unwavering commitment to improving upstate New York’s struggling economy, and nothing more,” Mr. Reines said.

She is a horrendous choice to head the State Dept. Clearly the new president has serious judgement issues.
Let’s hope Republicans will have the guts to expose this every which way and demand that HRC step aside. The incoming administration of B. Hussein O is beset with scandals even before they take the oath of office.

Here’s how it works. You “give” $100,000 to Clinton’s “initiative”, whatever that is. But it’s not actually “given” until you get your big bucks from the government. Then you skim off $100,000 for the Clintons. So, you AND the Clintons make out.
Unfortunately, this has been going on for decades if not centuries. And both parties do it.
Some folks are crooks. Some folks are honest. Sadly, there are fewer and fewer honest folks left.
The Clintons are inveterate crooks. They have held ONLY government jobsfor the past 25 years and yet made tens and tens of millions of dollars off their so-called “public service” First Richardson and now Clinton. Before long we’ll have more exposes on the connection between Ms. Hilda Solis and the corrupt SEIU.
Unfortunately, the capital D that follows her name acts as a "Keep out of Jail Free" card.

maybe Obama is more crafty than I thought. Give her the post as sec. of state then have every political enemy sand bag her senate confirmation, knocking her out of the post promised ( not his fault) and destroying her politically so she cant run against him.
He would live to regret that, but it would be fun for all of us.
