I’m with the director Arinofsky calling for all the wrestlers to get a Screen Actors Guild membership. While not an outright unionization it would get them a load of protections they’ve been needing for decades. Who needs insured medical more than people who need it every third or fourth time performing?
The costs as independent contractors must be eating up the lower tier performers who are out there making the stars look great. No amount of monetary compensation replaces health and shortened lifetime.
