Waiting for the pinhead brigade to bash her for using the word butt. It's not appropriate language for someone in her position.

The brigade has arrived. I guess you were equally dismayed at Cheney telling “to f*ck off” and Bush flipping the bird, right?

You do know what “butt” means right? It's the short version of the medical term, ‘buttocks’. It's a silly little term that most real bottom feeders would never be caught dead saying....kind of like the word "poopie".
Would it be better if it she used the Biblical term and she said, “they are working their flesh off”??? Or how about just expand the term to gludiousmaximous....would that make you feel better? Now if she had said, “A$$” I would have to agree with you, I know bikers in the 60's liked that word and they were not nice people. ;(

When I read it, I dismissed it as
PEOPLE mags version of what she said.
Until I hear it, I will think they've misquoted her...(not the first time)
She's open and honest, but I can't imagine her using that expression.
And to the poster early in this thread who suggested we are pinheads for questioning this, he/she can go pound sand a little bit :^

lOL, that is exactly why I can relate to Sarah. We are of the same mind. I would say butts too. She just rolls off like an everyday person, not like some uppity liberal who can’t even spell butts properly. GO SARAH!

It's not appropriate language for someone in her position. I agree, and it's not presidential either.

It's not appropriate
You're absolutely right! She should have said something along the lines of "..Their enhanced physical activity both at home and in their classrooms has resulted in a reduction of their posteriors and gluteus maximi........."
That sounds much better doesn't it?
