HONOLULU - President-elect Barack Obama will meet with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday to discuss a planned economic stimulus package estimated to cost up to $775 billion, a Democratic source said Thursday.
Obama, Pelosi and Reid will then meet with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell and House minority leader Republican John Boehner, who have expressed concern about the cost of the economic stimulus package, the source said.
Obamas meeting with Pelosi and Reid will take place in Reids office. The discussion including House and Senate Republican leaders will be held on the Senate side of the Capitol.
The discussions will cover the scope and timing of the package.
The meetings come the day before the new Congress reconvenes, when lawmakers are expected to move quickly on an economic stimulus package - legislation that Obama has made his incoming administration's top priority.
Obama's meetings with Democrat and Republican Congressional leaders come the day his family's relocation to Washington, D.C. on Sunday, and they are among his first moves in what is expected to be a strong push to pass the massive economic recovery package.

What a courageous act, Mr. *President-Elect*.
The Axix of Evil will be discussing the economic stimulus package my foot. They will be trying to collectively cover their arses in this Gov Blowhard mess.
They will tax, spend and regulate at record levels — and kill millions of unborn children along the way

lol.....idiots pretending to do grown-ups jobs.
Not one of these three are competent to do the respective jobs they hold.
They should be down at the Sanitation Department or Animal Control..... God help us if we have to deal with a real crisis in the next four years, becuase I don't believe B Hussein Obama is up to anything bigger than scheduling his next trip to the gym.
I think both sides of the aisle are guilty of spending money we don’t have. They remind me of a married couple who knows they’re going bankrupt so they max out their credit cards before the day comes. That’s the only logic I can find to explain their fiscal insanity. The only other explanation is, well, fiscal insanity.
Can you imagine the smell that will be coming out of this room?
We have never spent ourselves out of a recession. This is going to be long term disaster.
Now its $775.
We better hurry up and inaugurate him or pretty soon he'll be proposing serious money.
Pubbies need to grow some, quickly.
RE “Is it 2012 yet??? “
Are you kidding? Republicans have a lot of soul searching and cleaning house to do after GWB economic precidents. You cannot attack Obama for wasteful spending and socialistic takeovers and defend GWB without being laughed at. I see Hannity try it every night and he looks pathetic. (He is in GMs pocket too!)
...and defend GWB without being laughed at.
:::::::::::
Well, you will not find me defending Bush. His performance, given two terms and two CONGRESSIONAL MAJORITIES has been disasterous. To say nothing of his liberal-ness and total lack of leadership. I agree Hannity is a Bush-Bot. Sad. Sean is one of the few on Fox I have much respect for.
You may have to record it but try Cavuto/Your World FNC. He is anti-bailout and gives both parties grief. He gave McCain's spokesmen hell on supporting bailout then trying to act like he was against it, just days before the election. And he didn't care who it helped /hurt. He shows thoughtfulness and consistency.
Hannity is just a talking points machine that programs his listeners like robots, similar to Rush's joke mind numbed robots. Hannity (and Coulter and Morris) were telling listeners that he Hannity won election for Mccain by doing shows on Ayers and friends. As if non-Hannity-robots would forget McCain's cowardliness on bailout bill and crisis in general (and that he stood for nothing but surge).. You are a Great America you mindless robot..
Nope, but we have a few Freepers who think this is a great idea!
