President George W. Bush meets with Dr. Henry Kissinger, former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeniy Primakov, and other senior American and Russian statesmen and policy experts Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, in the Cabinet Room of the White House. The meeting presented an opportunity for the President to hear views from the delegation on a variety of issues important to the United States and to Russia and reflects the high value the President attaches to the U.S.-Russia bilateral relationship. This informal dialogue, co-chaired by Dr. Kissinger and Mr. Primakov, was initiated in 2007 with the support of Presidents Bush and Putin, to foster discussion of important issues on the U.S.-Russia agenda.
