I suspect that you have not read, or not understood, the Supreme Court decision saying what could, and could not, be done with police stops of traffic. I have read it, and what it says cannot be done -- because of the 4th and 5th Amendments -- is just as important as what can be done.

I am by no means a "nanny stater," as my thousands of posts on FR, and hundreds of articles, and eight books, demonstrate. But then I don't suppose you'ved read, or even heard of, much of that. That's a bit sad. You probably would have agreed with my winning brief in the US Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore. But you're unaware of that either, are you?

You, however, are clearly uninformed, to put it very mildly. I hadn't thought there were that many careless individuals on FR until I ran into this thread. I won't make that mistake again.

Good grief that sounds pompous! I know you're usually true-blue and well-reasoned, but that didn't come off right.
