A group of Republican leaders including the vice-chair of the Republican National Committee say they will try in January to pass a resolution accusing President George Bush and congressional Republican leaders of embracing "socialist" policies. Pretty blunt.

It might be too late. The socialists who voted in BO will enjoy their free handouts and continue coming back to the trough for more.
Newt (2008)
From the article:
The RNC’s sole job historically has been to raise money for candidates and to pass the party line down the food chain to state and local leaders. Policy has been set by the party’s congressional leaders and, when a Republican sits in the White House, by the president.
The Bopp-Yue vanguard say they are determined to change that.
“For the past eight years, the RNC has been the political outreach of the White House,” said Arizona Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen, another resolution co-sponsor who led the 2006 immigration fight and who opposed Mr. Bush’s “economic policies promoting the ‘ownership society’ because they would eventually lead to the financial meltdown we are currently experiencing.”
“It is now time for the RNC to assert itself in terms of ideas and political philosophy,” Mr. Pullen added. “If we don’t do it now, when will we?”
Instead of promoting party unity to stand against the Democrats and raising money so Republican candidates would have a chance against the Dem machine, they are promoting division among Republicans, to further diminish any chances of the Republicans rising again.
“Someone has to take a stand against socialism and Bush has not.”
They are NOT making a stand against socialism, they are making a stand against Bush. If they wanted to make a stand against socialismm, they would be working on electing more Republicans to counter Obama and the Democrats.
It’s the unfortunate usual circular firing squad, which enabled the Democrats to take over and go Obama elected.
“I could have told them eight years ago he was a closet socialist (compassionate conservatism is socialist light).”
“I have been much concerned that so many people with conservative instincts feel compelled to apologize for them.”
- Barry Goldwater “The Conscience of a Conservative”
What they are doing is the right thing to do. We need some clarity. Some “bright pastels”.
“House Minority Leader John A. Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, both of whom voted for the financial bailout but opposed the auto bailout, declined to comment.”
Bums! Let’s hear it! “We’re not really for small government,” they should say.
“Please find us another Regan before it is too late!”
One is currently governor of Alaska...I suspect there are others...it would be nice if we could have all-conservative choices in our primaries, then the vision to pick the right one...
THANK GOD AND SOMEOME GET ALL THE SHARP INSTRUMENTS AWAY FROM THE BUSH0BOTS!
I recall that many conservatives realized that, back then, but there was the "he's a socialist, but he's OUR socialist" crowd, too. What blew me away was how people were shocked at his immigration stance, when it was obvious for many years prior!
Many Bushbots self-deluded as badly as the 0bama crowd has...and I fear will do so again.
“The only Republican politician I know of who can be trusted to fight big government across the board is Ron Paul.”
Yes, he’s good on that issue. And it’s not his fault that so many of his supporters are just flat out FREAKIN’ NUTS and that the stench of that rubbed off a little on him.
That nut?
He might be right on everything. He might be conservative, pro-life, pro-RKBA, pro-border security, etc. He might be principled. He might put the security of America in front of security of foreign countries. He might have actual understanding of the economy and the world. He might be a highly respected doctor and dedicated husband. He might have led the Texas delagation to nominate Reagan.
But he's a kook. Someone on an Internet forum told me.

Thanks!
Tax cuts allowing people to have more money to spend is “socialism”????
LOL. You had my going there for awhile.
Might be too little, too late though...
bttt
Why is it, every time someone talks about unity and division it is always the conservative voice that has to shut up and unite otherwise they are the ones being divisive? But when the spenders and out of touch elite do what is not in the best interest of the country’s well being they are never called to task for their divisiveness or the damage they do. I am tired of one sided and non factual arguments from the country clubbers and the democrat machine that push this garbage.
We had one. Sarah Palin was our Esther for this time in our history and the sheeple wanted a ‘king.’ We’ll pay for it.
