Caroline Kennedy, you know, might need, you know, a speech coach, um, if she, you know, wants, um, to be a senator.
Um, you know?
Kennedy, who gave a flurry of media interviews on Friday and Saturday, revealed some cringing verbal tics that showed her inexperience as a speaker, experts told the Daily News.
In a 30-minute session with The News on Saturday, Kennedy punctuated her answers with "you know" more than 200 times. "Um" was fairly constant, too.

If she does interview her, she won’t ask her what she reads, or what Supreme Court Decisions she disagrees with, or anything like that. It will be questions such as “How do you think your mother would react to you being in the Senate?” and
“Do you think your Dad would be proud of you?” stuff like that, nothing remotely close to the nasty way Katie treated Sarah Palin, and when Katie looks at Caroline you will see love from Katie’s face, when Katie looked at Sarah you just saw disgust coming from Katie’s face
I get a kick out of the subtle propaganda—it’s not Kennedy, it’s Schlossberg.
Hey, great column, thanks for the link!!
I agree that if she really wants to display some political mettle she should announce for 2010 as an electoral candidate, rather than try to get appointed now. But she’ll be happy to take the sinecure if it’s handed to her by the Gov.
As for the assassinations 40+ years ago, I certainly have plenty of sympathy for any child (or anyone at all) who had to live through all that, but there ought to be a statute of limitations on sympathy related to asking to be handed a high public office 40 years later! My sympathy for the child Caroline K. does not extent to the 51 year old adult CK asking to be appointed to high office without any evident qualifications.
Never had a job.
oops, that was ‘extenD’
typing too fast....
Maybe she qualifies under the endangered species act. After all, how many women aged 51 in today’s world have never held a job? She’ll provide a unique point of view in the Senate - that of an inarticulate know-nothing. She is single-handedly ruining her father and mother’s reputation. Like, you know, Camelot.
All Kennedys seem to be required to get a degree in law, however many times they have to take the test. She apparently never actually used her degree in the real world other than to belong to the NY and DC bar associations.
I resent it.
Then ya all remember. Is she as cute now as then?
You resent what?
Hell, I don’t know...I was 16 or 17 then and could’ve cared less about politics. But I do remember where I was when her old man was shot.
SNL go get her!
you know that it is very common to be, you know uncommon
you know?
And you know Kennedy’s are not common, you know?
“No one remembers the little imp other than senior citizens.”
Hey watchit bub, you know. I’m one of those seasoned seniors who had the pleasure of voting against her daddy, ya know.
Thanks, I was thinking that I was the only one to notice this "slight" omission.
BTW Come on over to Nevada this "senior citizen" will run your a$$ off in the desert.
When you have 3 or 4 hundred million dollars, ya don’t need to work too hard on your social skills.
Like being able to talk.
