A luxurious estate in Marthas Vineyard will be Caroline Kennedy retreat away from the stress of Capitol Hill if she replaces Hillary Clinton as New Yorks next Senator.
The Clintons have nothing on the Kennedys when it comes to net worth and luxurious homes.
Caroline is the owner of a 336-acre estate with a 2,000-foot-long driveway and is worth an estimated $50 million, according to the New York Post. Carolines mother Jackie Onassis purchased the property for $1.1 million in 1978.
The house is just a small part of Caroline Kennedy's personal fortune, which could exceed $400 million, according to C. David Heymann, author of "American Legacy: The Story of John and Caroline Kennedy."
The sprawling estate is the perfect place for the senatorial hopeful wheel and deal away from the spotlight of the Senate. The property boasts 4,620 feet of oceanfront for her to recoup from the stress of Washington, if she gets appointed by New York Gov. David Paterson to replace Sen. Clinton.

yep, she’s just like one of us.
And articles like this are supposed to garner support for Caroline’s Senator-ship??
When $400 Million isn’t absolutely, positively enough, go for POWER to makes peoples’ lives miserable - priceless.
So, she’s too rich to fail the Senate race?
which could exceed $400 million
Jackie O put a deposit down on a rental on The Vin-yuhd. When she cancelled at the last minute the owner said she forfieted her deposit. And just like us, she got the assessor to duly reassess the value of the property and lo and behold it was grossly undervalued and the owner was hit with a hefty retroactive property tax increase. Remember the Kennedy Motto: “Do YOU know who I am?”
Don’t you just love limosine liberals?
While I am not a Caroline fan (for various reasons), I cannot see how her financial worth is in any way relevant. I am much more concerned with her abysmal lack of presence in the political field over the years. Her failure to vote, to promote political views, etc., is more relevant by far.
Let’s see.....hmmm.....this story along with El Presidente-electo’s multimillion dollar beachside home in Hawaii.....yep the era of hope-n-change for the poor have arrived!!! Look what we poor and middle-class have to look forward to on MSNBC for the next 4 years......
Quickly - someone ask her how many houses she owns and then we can humiliate her if her answer isn’t quick enough. Then, we’ll judge her if the number is too high. Oh wait, that’s the democrat’s process for republicans...
Her lifelong wealth is further evidence of her demonstrated lack of experience outside her trust-fund cocoon.
Trust me, if Palin had been a trust-fund baby, that would have been the decisive nail in her media-constructed coffin.
Wow, she must have one very big carbon footprint.
Well, I am persuaded - this is the way to go! Let history recycle a government of aristocracy & landed gentry with old money. We can eliminate pay for play - since the Kennedys and their ilk, can pay for everything and will play with anyone.
Hollywood will be happy.
News organizations will only need geneology expertise ..no need to do background checks on past associates or list criminal histories of drug usage etc., birth certificates are de rigeur.
The economy will jog along while our House of Lords commute from DC to their coastal plantations in the winter and their mountain retreats in the summer - -injecting huge sums of money into domestic service and other local commerce.
Tax payers will not have to subsidize our unelected -but selected, officials’ food, transportation, medical care or mistresses -they will flaunt their own wealth to show the peasants that money talks......LIKE, YOU KNOW, LOUD!!!!
I agree with you but I think it galls many of us when very wealthy inherited or otherwise types want to tax the crap out of ordinary folks like us to pay for folks who are a drag on our culture.
So when she goes home from DC to continue to do important work for us New Yorkers it will be from some island located in another state that is her real home.
That is about all that is useful I got from this tripe of an article.
I think the rules of thumb is that if you can see it from space, it’s a pretty big footprint.
