His theory sees the U.S. breaking up on a regional and racial basis. He basically sees the same type of dissolution seen during the failure of communist countries on an ethnic basis.
The major flaw in his theory is that the U.S. isn't a dictatorship with forced migration of one ethnicity into areas dominated by another. With the exception of Native Americans (a really small minority) you also don't have the long term history of conflict that you see in most of those communist nations.
His views are getting press because the old party communists in Russia want to believe that, since it happened to the USSR, it can happen to the USA.

Ummm.., well the Indians are already “breaking away” claiming that their treaty as a sovereign nation was violated and they are returning to their sovereign nation status... LOL...
Here are a couple of links for the breakaway Republic...

You’re right, he is projecting and making assumptions about our country based on experiences in his own and in surrounding countries. We’re the United States of America. Which means we’re united individual states and not a monolithic, centralized government like most other countries. We were actually founded as a union of semi-autonomous nations and we still somewhat operate as such. We simply can’t break apart because most of us have been raised to see each other as different based on our regional differences, yet we learned since youth to get along with eachother quite well.
Our founding fathers saw what the ugliness of having a monolithic nation would bring so they instituted a federalized collection of democratic republics and not a single state. Nice try thinking we will though.
