WASHINGTON (AP) - Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the country is not "race-blind" and "we shouldn't deceive ourselves that we're race-blind," but said the election of Barack Obama as the first African-American president was a key moment in history.
"I think all Americans were quite taken with the fact that we were able, after the long history we've been through, that initial birth defect of slavery, that we've elected an African-American."

In other words, she too is shocked that all whites aren't a bunch of racists. She has made a lot of very disappointing statements over the past six months or so about how she views America viewing Obama.

His mother is white - why is he pure African-American and not half African-American? Never mind, I don’t need an answer.

She probably voted for the marxist POS too.

There are plenty of black leaders (in Africa). What would be a big “to-do” would be the election of a “Native American” indian! This reverse racism gets so ridiculous.

Anybody here still want her as VP?
I didn't back then when everyone was shouting her name (because they foolishly believe it would help us win minority votes...no “R” can do that), and I still don't.

I find it amazing that if his father was white and mother was black;he’d be accused of playing black.

The election of Obama is going to make it pretty tough on the Racialists of the UN to attempt, again, to brand the U.S. a racist nation.
After reading what all else Miss Rice had to say at article source, I hope to read her books. She was in the "arena", and I'd like to see what she saw from that vantage point.
