A British mother faces jail in Dubai after being convicted of adultery. Marnie Pearce fears she may never see her two sons again. She insists she is innocent and that it is her ex-husband who cheated on her. Miss Pearce, 40, claims she was framed by Egyptian Ihab El-Labban so he could win custody of their children, Laith, seven and Ziad, three.

Bad sitiuation, and I agree that no woman should get involved with a muslim. BUT, I don't buy her cry of innocence. Who the heck has "coffee" in their home with a cowokers "BROTHER IN LAW"????
I think if I came home and found my wife having coffee with somebody's brother inlaw I think I might just be a little suspicious.

I knew a woman who married an Arab man and was having all sorts of trouble with him right from the beginning. I wonder whatever happened to her. She was really nice but unattractive and overweight. These Muslim men know how to prey on these emotionally vulnerable women and use them to get visas to stay in the U.S. Then they dump the women, or leave them and take the children with them. Nothing good comes from dealing with them. The odds are bad that it will end well.

Happened in our area with a local doc. Took his American(completely converted to Islam)wife of 10 years home to Egypt and announced she wasn’t going back to the USA. He was divorcing her and she was to remain in Egypt and care for his kids. To enforce the decision he took her passport away. We found out about it in frantic phone calls she made to his office.
The funny thing was that this was the exact thing he did to his first Egyptian wife, trip and passport and all. Difference is that he was going back to the US to be with his second wife(the American)who was his receptionist and who was already pregnant. And yes, he has impregnated wife to be #3 also an employee in his office

I have no sympathy for any western woman who would marry an Arab. If she does not know what the odds are, she is too stupid to walk.

We've got a newby posting an article with an altered title on a subject that can sometimes get an inflammatory reaction from the best of us. Said newby has not responded to any of the questions on his/her own thread.
I might be a bit trigger happy, but...

I have no sympathy for any western woman who would marry an Arab. But they're so morally superior to us! Especially when they murder our children in cold blood! Ask any liberal, they'll tell you! /AS IF I REALLY NEED A "SARC" TAG

I think you’re absolutely right Chris. Also, there’s no way the British Government will apply pressure over these issues with the wealthy Middle East countries, not sure even if they should!

Absolutely.
It's unfortunate that the financial 'clout' of these countries gains them favour with the (nu) socialist governments of the EU.
To: Clintonfatigued
Yes, it’s a very risky commitment IMHO, hard to imagine how it would work out if the Muslim aspect has any ‘devout’ tendencies.

Diana - Trolling?? For posting a link to a real article, and asking for opinions on it? That's called open debate where I was raised. Sorry if my post set alarm bells off for you.
Moderator - Ok, sorry for breaking a rule I didn't realise existed. I'm disappointed though, that you also deleted my opinion along with the quote I excerpted. But, if you felt it needed censoring, as Moderator, that's your prerogative.
Grizzled Bear - Said newby has not responded to any of the questions on his/her own thread. I might be a bit trigger happy, but...
I think you maybe are being a touch trigger happy on this one Mr Bear, contrary to what you may read about us Brits, some of us do have productive jobs and businesses over here that don't involve sitting in front of a Govt funded PC surfing EBay or trawling through forums, so unfortunately, I wasn't able to address any response within a few minutes notice! I'll be as prompt as possible, I promise!
humblegunner - Power over her Husband. Sorry, my bad due to posting late, with tired eyes and brain. I'll paraphrase.
Do I think she should have the power in her marriage, so she is able to avoid being 'stoned, flogged or imprisoned' for alleged adultery without trial?
Absolutely I believe she should have power to protect herself from an oppressive entity, where the entity is applying excessive punishment based on religious fanaticism, or any other unreasonable belief.
Jemian - I've worked with groups in my Community in my spare time for many years that are connected to my local Church, and worked lots with single Mums.
I've never had first hand experience with this issue, although I've heard lots of stories about friends of some of the women I work with who've run into serious problems with multicultural relationships.
FWIW, I live in Yorkshire in the UK, which is one of the most 'diverse' (ie: racially segregated) areas of the UK with regard to Muslims.
I think those feelings of (British) Western Women looking into other religions and cultures for some modicum of happiness relates to the disillusionment of being British in the unbalanced multicultural society that the Socialist Governments have created here over the past few decades. Some (younger generation) people here seem to hate being British now, it's subtle Socialist programming that's slowly erasing our (cultural) identity.
Unfortunately, that subtle programming is becoming more and more widespread, and consequently, more accepted.

I wasn't able to address any response within a few minutes notice! I'll be as prompt as possible, I promise! You claim that you were unable to address any responses within a few minutes. However, your thread was tagged at 7:37:39 PM and my response was posted at 8:51:40 PM.
Since you use proper grammar and spelling, I'll cut you some slack. So, welcome to Free Republic
You'll find FR is a friendly community that sometimes plays a little rough, but everyone's heart is in the right place.
Be warned, never ask humblegunner about his midget.
