In spite of RNC Chairman Robert M. "Mike" Duncan's sharply negative reaction, former Tennessee GOP leader Chip Saltsman said that party leaders should stand up to criticism over distributing a CD with the song. He earlier defended the tune as one of several "lighthearted political parodies" that have aired on Rush Limbaugh's radio show.
......
"The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party," Duncan said in a statement. "I am shocked and appalled that anyone would think this is appropriate as it clearly does not move us in the right direction."

No complaints from "moderate" Republicans about treatment of black conservatives either, I bet.
Screw, "keepin' on truckling" to the left. That's soooooo 20th century.
i’ll be happy to take this “cd” off their hands.
From what I can tell from this last election, the only people they're trying to bring into "our party" are liberals.
I wish the Republican party would grow a pair already.
“The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party,” Duncan said in a statement. “
No Mike it was a call to get back to base values and abandon Dem-lite policies. This idiot needs to go.
And all of this ongoing “conservative bashing”, “Republican bashing” and “non-leftist bashing” will never end anytime soon. This is one of the major reasons why both Republicans, at every political level, and conservatives, at every political level, will probably continue to have very difficult times in officially becoming a political majority, in so many parts of the U.S. and at any given point in the future, IMHO. Leftists all over the entire world continue to get away with so many things, thanks to the ongoing and worsening political bias from the worldwide MSM.
This leak of info is designed to influence the GOP Chairman race no doubt.
Its a smear of Saltsman.
My objection to him is that he is an operative of Mike Huckabee.
It has nothing to do with the CD parody.
It was a columnist from the Los Angeles Times who penned the expression, ‘Magic Negro’, to describe Barack Obama. ElRushbo just picked it up and ran with it!!
Congratulations, America.
It’s an AP story. Where have you been for the past 8 years? Didn’t you get the memo: Republicans=racist.
"F**k 'em if they can't take a joke."
Get ready for the next 4 years when the AP will do everything to protect the legacy of their “boy”.
The nauseating, vomit-inducing “shirtless” Obama was just a taste of what’s to come.
The 2008 election was a wake-up call for Republicans to reach out and bring more people into our party, Duncan said in a statement.
When the RNC Chairman starts eating up Republicans for being conservative and says we need to hold hands and sing kum bay ya and ask for forgiveness, well I just want to throw things and scream.
They had their chance with a moderate and he got creamed and their answer is a larger dose of this crap, are they for real, is this how they really think they will win elections?
If this how they really think in their heart of hearts, then we are toast unless we can get rid of these moronic mealy mouthed apologists. /rant
The Stupid Party returns, with a vengeance.
If only the Libertarians weren’t utterly insane . . . (and I’m saying that as a former card-carrying Libertarian, before I realized they WERE insane . . .)
But my own party is spouting this cr@p, they have seem to have no idea what a conservative is anymore and I'm not even talking about there problems with the “Christian Conservatives”.
The GOP seems to now have problems in general Conservative thoughts and ideology.
FM if they can’t take a joke..
A black columnist from the Los Angeles Times was the one who applied the phrase to Obama.
A parody was made of it. Lighten up, laugh a little, it is funny.
