I generally don’t like events like opening ceremonies, half-time shows, etc. But the Olympic opening ceremonies were apparently such a work of genius that it makes me want to have a look. Not so much to enjoy them for themselves, but to marvel at the man’s ability.

You would have appreciated the work of Leni Riefenstahl.

Official: Child Singer Not Pretty Enough for Olympics Opener: Girl Lip-Syncs Her Song
FoxNews, August 12, 2008

A member of China's Politburo asked for the last-minute change to match one girl's face with another's voice, the ceremony's chief music director, Chen Qigang, said in an interview with Beijing Radio.

"The audience will understand that it's in the national interest," Chen said in a video of the interview posted online Sunday night.

Guess the “80%” didn’t include the hordes slaughtered in Tianeman Square or so many others over the years.....

Matt Lauer: “Your Greatness, I understand that here in China the masses grovel before their noble exalted leaders, moaning in joy that they are allowed to serve you. Does this account for the overwhelming happiness of your population, Chairman Mao?”

There a difference between not insulting the hosts and expressing such servile, grovelling propaganda on behalf of the loathsome PRC.

Matt Lauer: “Your Greatness, would you prefer that I use my eager tongue and lick your feet clean or can I simply bend over so that you may ‘use’ me like your favorite concubine?”

I just emailed the show about the blonde bimbo fawning over ZeroBama.

My email: Does the blonde bimbo have her own fluffer or is that provided by Obama?

>>I watched the opening and closing ceremonies and was mesmerized.<<

I have never been so bored with an opening ceremony in my 48 years of loving every Olympic year.

Dave Barry compared it to all of Asia doing the Electric Slide. My hubby and I laughed and agreed.

We didn’t bother to watch the closing ceremonies.

Well I guess everyone is entitled to their own point of view.

I was in Yugoslavia for their Olympics - they had a childlike naivety that was very charming and in retrospect it was the opposite of the Chinese Olympics.
