My point exactly. The GOP is hopeless.

Feb. 12, 2009 will be the tenth anniversary of the beginning of the GOP’s disintegration. That is because when they were called upon to act with courage to try Clinton in the Senate, they folded like a stack of cards(thanks, Trent!).

Everything since then has been on a downhill slide.

We conservatives gave Bush his two victories, and instead of rewarding us, he went lusting after Dem acceptance while they crapped all over him.

How much longer can we beat our heads against the wall in the vain hopes that the GOP will somehow wake up?

How many more election cycles can we endure now that we have a Marxist ready to be sworn in as President?

To me, the betrayal of even REPUBLICAN principles by this GOP is what has put our country at risk. They, led by McIdiot, threw this election, which was an absolute repudiation of the GOP brand by the electorate thanks to spineless, aimless, unprincipled leadership. They allowed a warped media template to succeed in branding the GOP as irrevelant by a media in love with Obama.

The failure of the GOP is massive.

Why rebuild with them? We are the ones who gave them an additional eight years to get it right.

They failed. Good, they can go the way of the Whigs for all I care.

They are what they are, and they are not going to change. I refuse to participate in the Stockholm Syndrome of some conservatives who think the GOP is the only political option open to them.

The GOP has willingly particpated in the economic collapse of our country, aided by a President who thinks bailouts will save the day.

Now, that the GOP is in a minority position that may last for two decades, do you really think they are about to dig in, draw a line in the sand, and fight Obamaism and the Dems? Or will they just roll over and want their bellies scratched while the Dems complete the dismantling of America?

This is what the GOP allowed to happen.

The GOP has one hope—a real maverick, a real leader, a real American, a real conservative—Sarah Palin—and they are trying to destroy her.

That tells me all I need to know about the GOP.

You stay and swim against the tide if you want.

I want to swim in a new direction.

And will your new direction accomplish anything more than splitting the party just when we are beginning a new beginning, hopefully one that will reestablish conservatism?Doubtful.

For me the Republican brand is still worth fighting for.

When someone steals my candy I don't go back to the candy store and buy more. I run after them and kick their ass. If I get beat up I regroup and go back for more until I succeed in kicking their ass.
