There is a rush on in some quarters of the liberal mainstream press to blame President Bush for anything and everything that could cause grief to the incoming Obama Administration. The New York Times, one of the usual suspects, takes its turn today with an article that attempts to lay blame at the feet of Bush for a chain of events that has it's root in the decisions of President Bill Clinton.

The Motive for the New York Slimes in revising history:

“Why would the New York Times so obviously attempt to rewrite history on the mortgage crisis? To benefit incoming president Barack Obama. The goal is to give Obama and Congressional Democrats more time and wider latitude to attempt a fix of the situation on the theory that the public will be more patient with the new administration if it is viewed as cleaning up Bush’s mess, as opposed to its own. “

That ain't nothing, just think of all the people who give credit to Bubba for the prosperity of the 90's.

The problem with the NYTImes article is it didn’t point out the mistakes of the Democrats. However, W has been a terrible president who is responsible for much of this mess. He had eight years as leader, and now both the GOP and the country are in trouble.

President Bush is no way responsible for the Hoarding of oil to raise prices, then the huge drop in oil prices when the hoarded oil was put back on the market. President Bush was in no way responsible for the actions of builders over building, and banks over lending, to people who were not qualified for homes they could not afford. .. NOw I know whwy you are called the Moonman.

By the way , President Bush has been the best President this country has ever had, he saved us from a Moonbat Al Gore Presidency, he returned decency to the Oval Office, and he has defended us against terrorism when half this country is a bunch of whinny liberal cheese eating monkeys. Which you probably know a lot about.

Very slimey.

I remember when the rapist, in 1993, said that all the sweeping reforms her had promised would be impossible to fulfill because he didn’t realize how severe the situation was that GHW Bush left. Blah-blah-blah, democrat playbook, page one.

W certainly did do what you described, but his unwillingness or inability to fight the propaganda war at home against the the socialists in the press and in governement is inexcusable and is directly responsible for the socialist takeover of the government that you are not reading about in the socialist press.

The New York Times? The what?

Didn’t that used to be a respected newspaper?

How long have they been bankrupt now?

There is still something call the "freedom of Press" in this country, and it is legal to print propaganda, as for fighting it, I have found it a losing battle. I have quit watching it, and only fight it slightly here with fellow freepers, what are you doing about it?

OK OK, “use”, not “used”.

Use is what we do to the NYT when we put it at the bottom of the bird cage.

BS. He has few fingerprints on this mess. He didn't set the bad lending policies and even called for more regulation. He is responsible for a six year period of growth by lowering taxes on capital gains and income so capital entered the economy. His lack of spending discipline (to put it lightly) is the only thing that impacted this, but it is a rather small factor compared to the bad policies implemented in the 90s and the practice of Fannie, Freddie, banks, and irresponsible recipients of mortgages they could not afford.

OK, let's pretend the weak dollar oil man wasn't responsible, but then he pushed the ethanol scam which raised food prices.

President Bush was in no way responsible for the actions of builders over building, and banks over lending, to people who were not qualified for homes they could not afford.

He was pushing home ownership along with everyone else, when he should have been promoting technology and investment. And he was too busy promoting illegal aliens as the future of America to be vigilant on the economy.

By the way , President Bush has been the best President this country has ever had,

LOL! Welcome to FR Mrs. Bush.

W's demand side tax cuts were intended to "put money in the pockets of consumers," and they didn't work. The only tax cut that worked was in 2003, which wasn't authored by W, but by the Republicans in Congress. W was adamantly opposed to capital gains tax cuts.

My post #15 is for you too. As long as people remain willfully ignorant of how bad W is, the GOP will not recover.

There was a point in time when you could tell that the Bush administration had totally given up explaining their policies or agenda. So disappointing. He had the opportunity to do much more.
