A woman's 80-year-old grandfather fatally shot her estranged husband after he tried to take their two children from the grandparents' house, Conroe police said Saturday.

According to police, Boudreaux's estranged wife and children have been living with her grandparents for about five months. When Boudreaux arrived Friday and tried to take the children, the grandfather intervened and ordered him to leave. Boudreaux refused, pushing the man out of the way, the statement said. The grandfather then allegedly retrieved a revolver from another room and placed it in his back pocket before again advising Boudreaux, who was aware the older man had a gun, to leave, police said.
As the two left the home out to the driveway, Boudreaux again pushed the older man and allegedly struck him in the chest area where he recently had a pacemaker inserted, police said. Fearing for his life, police said the older man then allegedly shot Boudreaux once, killing him.

Darwinism at work here. The dad knew grandpa had the gun and continued to be aggressive and pushes the old man again in the driveway even after knowing he has a gun. The gene pool is better off without this foolish man.
It doesn’t say whether the cops were called before the shooting, I wonder....
There is no mention of any court order about weekend visits, there is no mention of dad being there lawfully to retrieve his kids for the weekend. Only that Dad comes into grandpa’s house, twice pushes him out of the way even after knowing the old man has a gun and acts in a threatening manner. Darwinisn is at work here and the gene pool is better off without this stupid fool populating the earth.
I am glad that you are prepared to defend yourself. The country needs more like you.
Reality has a way of teaching people that it is better to be armed than defenseless.
When was the last time you read of a store clerk running out of ammo in a store robbery?
Like I said, try on a steel plate. No matter how fast you shoot, you should be able to know if the target is up or down. Shoot as fast as you can when it’s up and stop when it’s down. How hard is that?
My son regularly had top scores with his SAW since he used aimed fire.
Make sure you have a speed loader with five more.

People are not steel plates. They usually fall down much slower. It depends a lot on where they are hit and how they react. You cannot even be sure that just because the threat is down, that it is no longer a threat. It is not uncommon for a bullet to break a leg or the pelvic girdle and put the assailant down, only to have them capable of continuing the fight because their brain and trigger finger are still fully functional.

Just as I would have predicted. But, he does not determine where each round is going, does he? I also bet that he cannot determine that the threat is down in the middle of a three shot burst, and stop from firing the last two shots.
But we are becoming absurd here. I have no wish to prove you wrong, I just wanted people to understand that multiple shots do not indicate that someone had more than self defense in mind.
I got one of those cute little revolver speed loaders. I use .38 special hollow points, out here in the boonies we do have bears + other large predators,not to mention the occasional rabid raccoon. And the occasional tweaker, etc.
My basic problem is that when facts are missing, I don't trust the MSM to not be exercising an agenda.
There is no mention of a protective order, or a visitation order, or a support order.

Insufficient data. I wasn't there, and I have no personal knowledge of prior situations that might have affected the perceived threat level. Do you?
I have trained so that my responsibility/response level is set to be far higher than my emotional level. I have carried legally for over forty years, and have yet to fire a shot in self (or other) defense -- against humans. I have:
I'd call that trained self-discipline -- not emotion. And quite I'm glad that I will not have to sit on the jury that has to sort out all the stresses and opinions in this case (if it comes to trial). Of course, even without revealing the above background, I seriously doubt that the attorney(s) would let a trained CHL holder be seated on the jury...
Or so prosecutors would have you believe. Actually it is quite common for people, especially on defense, to empty the gun, before they realize they've fired, or at least before they realize they've actually hit what they were shooting at.

Story linked in post 6 indicates that no visitation order had yet been signed. The mother of the deceased was allowed to visit the kids. The father had made statements, to his own mother, that "’If I get to see them, I will not let the kids go back to her.’"
The great grandfather and the mother said the man was "under the influence" of something. I imagine the autopsy will either confirm or refute that, as well as tell "what".
But it hadn't been.
The other article says three, one in the arm, one in torso, and a third in a location unknown to the police spokesman. Unless the third was in the torso or head, or possibly in a major artery in the leg, likely the torso shot was what killed him. And probably not "instantly".
