SNIPPET: “(IsraelNN.com) Yet another attempted terrorist attack in northern Jerusalem’s Kalandia neighborhood: On Saturday night, an Arab arrived at the checkpoint there, and was found to be carrying a knife. Upon his arrest, he told the police that he planned to carry out a stabbing attack.
This was the third such incident at Kalandia, near Atarot, in the space of just over a week. In both previous cases, Arab youths were discovered with a knife on their person – a commando knife, in one case - and said they were hoping to stab a Jew.”
SNIPPET: “Five attacks occurred at the Kalandia checkpoint in the month of January. Three explosive devices were hurled at the checkpoint, one bomb exploded, and a terrorist was arrested on his way to perpetrate a stabbing attack.”

Terrorist gets 25-year sentence for firing rockets at Israel

Beersheba District Court sentenced Mamdouh al-Tanaa to 25 years in prison after he was convicted in a plea bargain for firing rockets at Israel and aiding in the transportation of suicide bombers who injured two soldiers.
In 2006, Al-Tanaa, active in the al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, fired rockets from the water tower near Erez Crossing into Israeli towns in the area. In another incident, he fired rockets at IDF soldiers near Beit Lahiya together with two other partners in crime. (Ilana Curiel)

Hamas: We’ll Avenge Al-Mabhouh’s Blood
Hamas political bureau head Khaled Mash’al stated at a memorial service for Hamas operative Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh that the stage of threats has passed and that now was the time to avenge his death.
Mash’al stressed that Hamas’s military wing was capable of meeting its obligations for vengeance.
Hamas military wing spokesman Abu Ubaida said that the decision to respond with vengeance for Al-Mabhouh’s assassination had already been made.

The son of a leading Hamas figure, who famously converted to Christianity, served for over a decade as the Shin Bet security service’s most valuable source in the militant organization’s leadership, Haaretz has learned.
Mosab Hassan Yousef is the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a Hamas founder and one of its leaders in the West Bank. The intelligence he supplied Israel led to the exposure of a number of terrorist cells, and to the prevention of dozens of suicide bombings and assassination attempts on Israeli figures.
The exclusive story will appear in this Friday’s Haaretz Magazine, and Yousef’s memoir, “Son of Hamas” (written with Ron Brackin) will be released next week in the United States. Yousef, 32, became a devout Christian 10 years ago and now lives in California after fleeing the West Bank in 2007 and going public with his conversion.
Yousef was considered the Shin Bet’s most reliable source in the Hamas leadership, earning himself the nickname “the Green Prince” - using the color of the Islamist group’s flag, and “prince” because of his pedigree as the son of one of the movement’s founders

What an interesting story. I understand that Mr. Yousef has a book coming out (or it has just been released) entitled Son of Hamas. I look forward to reading it. I would imagine this is the kind of story that could lend itself to a fascinating and insightful movie, if only Hollywood made those kinds of movies, you know pro-Israel, pro-Democracy anti-terror.
