Hey, let is bail Ford/GM/Chrysler out so that we can continue to reward this kind of behavior. I would be so pissed being a non-union salary man (engineer, middle management, etc.) at any of the big three (they have gotten hammered with pay and benefit cuts) when they pay these moron $100,000+ a year for doing nothing. Absenteeism at 33% a day? Prizes and cash to come in to actually do your job? WTF???

The last American car I owned was a 1977 Dodge Ramcharger and it was a piece of ——. This article only makes me more determined not to buy an American car ever again.

UAW work rules and a union culture that ensure each hour of labor a company pays for is much less productive than a competitor without a union; abusive overtime practices - these are the hidden costs that the UAW isn’t bringing up. They may be making good cars but they are nowhere near competitive at this point.

So, it turns out that the UAW is dishonest????
Who would have guessed?

It’s rather humorous to see union bosses suddenly discovering a respect for private property rights, though. I guess when it’s theirs, it’s different.

Fraud is fraud. It should be treated as such. Fire the two bums and seek their prosecution.

The union mandated work rules are devastating GM and Chrysler, and even Ford.
The union won’t allow the line to go past as certain speed.
Worker X is prohibited from lifting a finger to help Worker Y, even if worker X has nothing to do.
Workers refuse to load or unload a truck, or sign a form, or do the most trivial thing unless accompanied by the “official” truck unloader, or an official “form signer”, etc.
I’ve delivered to non union plants, and am in an out in 10 minutes where the same delivery to a UAW plant takes six hours, maybe more.
As much as it flies against my American pride and patriotism, I am reluctant to buy a GM product, or a Chrysler product, as long as those companies are controlled by the Democrat union thugs.

About 2/3 of all American workers do the same thing. THIS is why we as a country have lost our competitive edge.
The citizenry are fat, lazy slobs who think they're entitled to cheat and steal from our employers - JUST like those b@stards who are getting bailed out, as well as many of those Federal, State and Local employees.

...and, of course, the union folks that work for Boeing would never do anything like this. Right?!?

Unions will destroy this country before terrorist will. I have never seen such waste as union jobs, used to deliver fuel to a union run plant they had to have 2 clowns together all the time for safety they say even to sign the fuel ticket I once joked when they came out I said what, only one knows how to write their name and the other carries the pencil. What a waste of money and time.

This is a gutty report from Detroit< The rank and file Union member knows what goes on and they shut up to keep their job, but when the general public sees this they tend to resent the Unions and all the members.
I like to see these big fat scummy grifters on TV. They don't have much shame but it must aggravate them.

I beg to differ. The people I work with, non-union hospital workers work their tails off and this kind of crap is unknown. This has also never been my experience in any other work environment.
That is atrocious behavior.
But, I will say I have never, ever worked in a unionized environment. I detest them, and always have.

These thieving crooks support every stereotype that I hold of unions.

Why have they not been fired and now being prosecuted?
