I’ll have to admit that, so far, I’m feeling no sympathy for any of the “victims”. They all appeared to be very greedy. Of course, the only way a Ponzi scheme will work is if there are plenty of greedy people with money who want more.

I guess they’ve never heard the phrase “If it sounds to good to be true it generally is”.
It’s all a matter of greed and when everyone else is getting 4% and Madoff is offering three times that return maybe a little light bulb should have gone on.
