But sources inside the White House say that Bush has mentioned several scenarios which could ultimately postpone the swearing in of President-elect Obama. (emphasis added)

The Constitution specifies when the old President’s term ends and the new one begins. They can postpone the ceremony if they want, they can not postpone the turnover.

The only one who can stop Obama from being sworn in on Jan 20th is the NY Times. One article and it is all over.

No, I'm for the Constitution and the rule of law. The Constitution says that the Bush administration ends at noon on January 20th. There is no legal way for Bush to postpone that.
