Norcross man awaits sentence in sex trafficking
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | December 24, 2008 | MARY LOU PICKEL

A Norcross man is awaiting federal sentencing — at least 15 years in prison — for his participation in a sex trafficking ring involving young Mexican women.

Francisco Cortes-Meza, 25, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, pleaded guilty last week to sex trafficking after forcing a 22-year-old woman, also an illegal immigrant, to work as a prostitute from a home in Norcross, according to immigration agents and a statement from David Nahmias, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia. The sex trafficking offense carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.Cortes-Meza met the young woman in Mexico last year and began a relationship with her, according to Nahmias. He then persuaded her to come to the United States, telling her she would work in a restaurant. He also smuggled her here, according to the statement from Nahmias.

Cortes-Meza’s case is part of a larger indictment handed up in July involving a brother of Cortes-Meza and two other relatives — all illegal immigrants from Mexico — as well as a man from Uruguay, who is a legal permanent resident of the United States. The five men were indicted on sex trafficking charges involving at least 10 victims, ranging in age from 14 to 28 years old, authorities said.

The women were frequently required to have sex with 20 to 30 men per night at a charge of $25, according to Nahmias. The majority of the prostitution was conducted in Norcross, but the Uruguayan man also ran an operation in Cartersville, said Brock Nicholson, Deputy Special Agent in charge of the Atlanta office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

When adcocates cry foul of basic human rights for illegals, how so when in this case all the people are from Mexico, with Mexicans taken advantage of their own people in this case forcing some minors into the sex trade ,where are all the protests at or press releases at? Does it seem in cases like this, When Mexicans does unto other Mexicans they would rather not speak about it ?

Just a good-hearted person coming to the US to do the work that Americans don’t want to do . . . . .

Francisco Cortes-Meza, 25, an illegal immigrant from Mexico,

They said he was from Norcross. They didn't have to add that he's an illegal Mexican.

Having sex in traffic should be illegal.

The Urinal Constipation is illiterate as usual. The women were slaves, not immigrants - legal or otherwise.

Don't ask me how I know, but it already is.

Fines are pretty stiff, too.

“Does it seem in cases like this, When Mexicans does unto other Mexicans they would rather not speak about it ? “

Ya think? Most of the crime against ‘immigrants’ is by other ‘immigrants’.

The women know to always say that they did it against their will, because they know that if they say that, they get to stay legally now.

Nice girls simply never end up doing that.

Congratulations on your ignorance and bloviating condescension. I hope it serves you well in stead of the intelligence, awareness, and maturity it replaced.

The mexicans working farms here (FL) insist that the hookers be 14 or younger.

Some people fall for every hard luck story.
I have seen these types all over... they are gleefully practically hunting down men for paid sex.
I have actually had to run away from them when I lived in Central Europe.

Then you see them when they get caught or someone puts a camera in their face, and it's a big sob story.
Nobody can make me shoplift if I don't want to, let alone pull down my pants and have sex with people day after day and year after year.
They claim to take away someone's passport... like that's enough to make someone engage in prostitution... give me a break. People lose their passports and get them stolen every single day of the year. Not a big deal.

If they are chained up somewhere, that's a different story, albeit an extremely rare one.

I to am starting to notice this almsot in every story about issues like this. Any woman would of ran as fast as she could run and who would be worried about a passport if you are forced into sex at this point would a passport even be a matter of concern or would getting away be your central concern?

You really aren't very aware of the real world.

Here is a clue.

These women come from places like Mexico and El Salvador - not the US of A.

These women (and young girls) are very aware that if they try to get away and are caught - either In the US or back home by these slime buckets, then they wind up decapitated by the road or in some field.
