A small cache of weapons and ammunition and the pants and sneakers that Plaxico Burress wore when he accidentally shot himself last month have been seized from the home of the New York Giants receiver, police said Wednesday.
A 9-mm handgun, a rifle and ammunition, including a clip for a .45 gun, were taken from Burress home in Totowa by authorities executing a search warrant Tuesday evening, police said. (Article excerpted. Complete article at: This link)

And the saga continues...
Plaxico Burress is not a 2nd Amendment Poster Boy, but I surely am sick of reading about these draconian, tyranical New York and New Jersy anti-firearms laws.

Well, at least they described it as a “small cache” instead of an “arsenal”...

Someone’s got to say it. Might as well be me:
When pants are banned, only criminals will wear pants!

Can anybody explain what ‘registration’ of guns in NJ entails? Are they referring to the transfer process that takes place when a handgun is purchased at a gunshop, or is this something else?

I guess a cache means 3 guns (they mention .380, .40 S&W and a .45 ACP being seized). I suppose that if Burress had a 4th handgun, THAT would make it an arsenal!

A 9-mm handgun, a rifle and ammunition, including a clip for a .45 gun... This is a cache? Heck, by their standards, I must have a freakin' armory!!

Plaxico Burress is not a 2nd Amendment Poster Boy...Unfortunately the people who are front and center in constitutional rights cases are just that type of person. For instance the case of Miranda v. Arizona (that gave us the familiar "right to remain silent" warning) involved Ernesto Miranda an armed robber, kidnapper and rapist.
Unless we protect the rights of the most lowly then we are in danger of losing that right ourselves. I hope Plaxico fights this case all the way to the SCOTUS.

Various pistols and a rifle were stolen from Burress’s home by people with pistols and rifles (and machine guns, tanks, SWAT teams, tasers, explosives, canines, surveillance equipment and helicopters). All this For Your Own Good. After all, safety is very important.

"...including a clip for a .45 gun...,"Half moon or full moon? Those things are used in double-action assault revolvers you know. Jeez what a bunch of limp wristed weenies.

That is why I am holding my nose and supporting Plaxico Burress in hoping that these unconstitutional laws are eventually overturned. All the while fearing that the negative PR of his actions may further damage the protection of our God given rights.
