Liam Thompson, who turns 2 next month, calls Debbie Thompson "Mama." But to the state of Utah, she cannot be more than the boy's legal guardian.
Thompson's wife, Reanna Thompson -- the couple were married in Montreal in 2004 and Reanna took Debbie's last name -- gave birth to Liam, with the help of a sperm donor, on Jan. 4, 2007.
Utah law forbids anyone in a cohabiting relationship -- gay or straight -- from adopting a child or serving as a foster parent. Single adults of any sexual orientation can adopt, but preference goes to married couples.
But in 2009, Rep. Rebecca Chavez-Houck, D-Salt Lake City, hopes to reverse the 2000 law that forbids all unmarried couples from serving as adoptive or foster parents. (Same-sex marriages, like the Thompsons', are not recognized by Utah, which has a constitutional ban on such unions.)
She acknowledged it will be "difficult" to get Utah's conservative Legislature to sign off on her "Forever Homes for Every Child" bill, which she submitted to the 2008 session but it never got out of the House Rules Committee.
"My gut feeling says we're not even going to see that bill in the Senate," said Senate President-elect Michael Waddoups, R-Taylorsville.

Homosexuals are attracted to adults of the same sex, heterosexuals are attracted to adults of the opposite sex. Pedo’s are attracted to kids. All research done indicates that pedo’s are almost always heterosexual. By far, most pedo’s are male so lesbian couples are far less likely to molest their kids than heterosexual ones. All pedo’s should be shot.
Orphaned children need a home, any loving couple or single who is willing to raise another couples child is doing that child a huge favor. Opposite sex couples are ideal but anything is better than a government foster home (usually followed by government jail).
All research does not show all hetrosexuals. What a bold faced lie.
A person that is attracted to the same sex is homosexual. A person attracted to childern of the same sex are homosexual pedophiles.

I don’t know much about the “sodomite lifestyle” beyond what I learned in three years of living in Ithaca, NY.
I did however meet alot of abused and orphaned kids in my line of work. I could never raise another man’s child, but if a pair of dykes is willing to do that, power to them. I could care less about the couple, but a child needs a home even if its an imperfect one.

The discussion was concerning homosexual child molesters not male vs female.
A male who has sex with other males is a homosexual.
A male who has sex with underage boys is a homosexual pedophile sex addict.
The poster tried to say that is not the case. But many experts in the field disagree with his position, in fact I am aware of none that do.
Men who marry a woman then molest the kids no matter what gender are not hetrosexual pedophiles, they are bi-sexual pedophile sex addicts.
