Kosovo decided Wednesday to name a central street of its capital Pristina after outgoing US President George W. Bush for his support of the territory's split from Serbia. Backed unanimously by Kosovo's cabinet, Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said the move was "a sign of the huge state and national respect and appreciation" for the United States' contribution to independence, declared earlier this year. Located in Pristina's downtown area, Bush Street is to be linked to the main thoroughfare named after Mother Teresa, the 1979 Nobel Peace Laureate of Albanian origin. Separately, the government pledged 5,000 euros (7,000 dollars) towards a statue honouring Bush's predecessor, Bill Clinton, popular in ethnic Albanian-majority Kosovo over NATO's 1999 air war against Serb forces. The three-metre (10-foot) tall statue, a project started in 2007, is to stand in a square of Pristina, which already has a Bill Clinton Boulevard graced by a 7.5 metre-high mural of the former US leader. The United States was one of the first of more than 50 countries to recognise the independence of Kosovo, which is staunchly opposed by Serbia and its ally Russia.

It'll be hard to keep the street signs up with all of the shoes that are going to be thrown at them...
Somehow or other I was stupid enough to hope that America policies in the Balkans might get fixed under W...
???
Not Clinton?
Muzzies love Bush!
I was just thinking the same thing — Clinton must not be very happy about this.
But, but, I thought Bush was universally despised by everyone on earth!
/liberal projection
Big deal. San Francisco named a sewage treatment plant after him.
"Separately, the government pledged 5,000 euros (7,000 dollars) towards a statue honouring Bush's predecessor, Bill Clinton"
no, they didnt they didnt want to disparage the workers that have to work at said plant. I think they may name it after Pelosi
You weren't alone. We all thought that.
But when GWB continued the same Balkan policies, even after 9/11, even after a couple hundred thousand non-Albanians were driven out of Kosovo by the Albanians and 150 ancient churches were destroyed by Albanians, and even after it became common knowledge that an independent Albanian Kosovo was now the drug & sex trafficking capital of Europe, I lost faith in both major Parties. They are just two sides of the same coin, in for themselves, each other & their buddies, and not for us.
That's why this whole economic collapse and the bailouts doesn't surprise me. They may have screwed the Serbs first, but they are screwing us now.
Thanks:)
Well, So...
Clinton blvd is conected to Allbrights bush now?
Excuse me while a I go hurl...
