A new report from the U.S. Army War College discusses the use of American troops to quell civil unrest brought about by a worsening economic crisis.
The report from the War Colleges Strategic Studies Institute warns that the U.S. military must prepare for a violent, strategic dislocation inside the United States that could be provoked by unforeseen economic collapse or loss of functioning political and legal order.
Entitled Known Unknowns: Unconventional Strategic Shocks in Defense Strategy Development, the report was produced by Nathan Freier, a recently retired Army lieutenant colonel who is a professor at the college the Armys main training institute for prospective senior officers.

Tell us about the "big leap" it took the country to elect a Muslim Whitey-hating Marxist while you're at it.
The FED has been hijacked by the anti-U.S. sovereignty Globalists.
Discard the Constitution?...Allowing Posse Comitatus to be eviscerated? Im sorry, people who hold such views and/or allow such things to happen are traitors...period. I dont care how many stars they have on their shoulders. Hes a disgrace to the uniform he once wore for believing and saying such a thing.
HEAR HEAR!
Herr Tommy ("Hey, I'm just following orders") Franks' book is now heading for the trash.

Exactly. Time will tell, but BO can never accomplish his agenda without some sort of crisis where he can declare martial law. I'm sure we ALL hope this NEVER happens, but when that civilian security force was mentioned, those that didn't get drunk on the Messiah's koolaid went ballistic! We knew what that meant and apparently he got scared and removed that from his website asap like he did many other things. I think he finally got the message he can't just say those things, people will fight them. He has to do it slow and methodically, but I'm not sure he can. He wants to move fast, very fast. He only has a short time to do a lot of things and none of them are good. Unless the USSR appealed to you.
Dunno on that count FRiend
And by the way Hoover isn’t really dead ya know, he lives in too many ways.
HAve fun ya’ll - but count me out of that attitude... OK?
I didn't take umbrage with the trite phrase, nor did I let it rise to Kelly feeling like he had ‘scored’ a point or two.
Remember, it takes two to have a flame war, so I almost always opt out.
Besides, Kelly assumes his opinion matter to me.
they are NOT that important in the entire scheme of things.
Of course they are organized differently. They have different missions.
Maybe you’re right about the young generation, but you have to realize that the young generation fills our current military and they are said to be some of the best soldiers that the country has fielded. Your point about weapons that they may have etc. if kind of silly. Look at the history of guerilla warfare. Heck, start with the American revolution. It’s not just about firepower.
The military really doesn’t want to go down this road. I mean, they REALLY don’t want to even contemplate the hell that will be unleashed should they choose this path.

Scenario: Riots occur and property owners defend their property. Who are these troops going to side with — the rioters or the property owners? If the leaders make the wrong decisions it could lead to mutiny and heightened strife. (Political Correctness will probably dictate the protection of the mob.)
It IS about today's firepower and technology. The youth of today do not have the resolve to fight as hard and make the same sacrifices that the Patriots who freed this country from the rule of King George.
>>”...current military and they are said to be some of the best soldiers that the country has fielded.”<<
It is because they are the “best [equipped] soldiers this country has ever produced. They have the highest and most efficient arms ever produced at their disposal. It is you sir, that is being “silly” if you think an unorganized band of ‘resistance fighters’ with bad backs could match the modern soldier utilizing night vision, FLIR technology, an Air Force, a Navy, tanks and cruise missiles. We old farts would be eliminated within days of our so-called “resistance”. Sorry to rain on your parade, but it is so and you know it.
You got that right. I read a book about 20 yrs ago... called "The Second Coming American Revolution" by Jay Sekulow. The guy was right on. We're going to be called on to put up or shut up, to protect our freedom from the enemy within.
Afghanistan is a great example that shows a fallacy in your thoughts.
Sure, it would be tough if an opponent was willing to use a scorched earth campaign where they kill everyone regardless of civilian or combatant. But, you need to read some history and perspective.
And, when Colonel North mentions how great our military is he is speaking of the people, not the particular weapons.
>>”Afghanistan is a great example that shows a fallacy in your thoughts.”<<
If you’re implying that we spoiled and fat Americans are as hardened as the Afghan rebels then you should have your house checked for Carbon Monoxide levels immediately. Open a window and get some air.
I remember how hard it was to pry the Afghan fighters from their X-Boxes and plasma TV’s just to accept our Stinger missiles to fight the onslaught of Soviet Helicopters. LOL
If you have spent your entire life living in the desert eating goat meat (when available), suffering sub-zero winters with only the skin of a goat to protect you from freezing to death and enduring 120+ degree heat in the summer (with little water), then you can say that you would be an effective ‘freedom fighter’. Until that time comes, which it never will, I say we would be grossly outgunned no matter how much we love our freedoms. Playing Rambo on the computer is not living it. All the tough talk and quotes from our founding fathers will not make one bit of difference when the SHTF.
Read “The Inside Story of the Soviet Withdrawal” by Diego Cordovez and then get back to me about ‘reading some history’. Until then, just STFU and go have a big breakfast loaded with saturated fats and you better clean your Ruger 10/22 again. That extra box of 50 shells you recently bought will come in handy when you have to take down that Blackhawk.
Listen up you stupid SOB. First of all, you assume that our armed forces are going to turn against “us”, which is ridiculous. Secondly, find a generation in history that didn’t think the following generations were “lazy” or “dumb” or any other negative term you can think up.
More importantly, a black hawk doesn’t do much good when your can’t determine friend or foe. Anyway, you are a pathetic old coot and I’m done with you.
LOL

Hell!we’re already there. This Government has not only been disfunctional its malfunctioned.
“Heck, start with the American revolution. Its not just about firepower.”
We weren’t able to win the revolution until we formed an effective, well trained, regular force equipted much like the British Redcoats. Of course, the French Navy helped too.
My point exactly. Thank you, DugwayDuke.
Uhm, we were still up against what was widely recognized as the best military in the world. Our guerilla tactics had a huge effect.
