Sure, it would be tough if an opponent was willing to use a scorched earth campaign where they kill everyone regardless of civilian or combatant. But, you need to read some history and perspective.

If you have spent your entire life living in the desert eating goat meat (when available), suffering sub-zero winters with only the skin of a goat to protect you from freezing to death and enduring 120+ degree heat in the summer (with little water), then you can say that you would be an effective ‘freedom fighter’.
