A serious man, about to take high office, does not walk around half naked. It is not dignified.
Ick. Not presidential material.
This seems to be a response born purely of negative emotion as opposed to a more rational analysis.
The guy is on vacation from Christmas to New Year’s in Hawaii. He goes swimming. Are you saying he shouldn’t take his shirt off? The photo was taken by a paparazzi with a telephoto lenses while the man was at a pool on private property. That’s not exactly walking around a business district with your shirt off.
So does a “serious” man go swimming with a shirt on? Or simply never go swimming? Remember that such judgments can cut both ways - was Bush less of a serious man because he wore bike shorts or running shorts?
Now - if it makes you feel a little sick to see this particular man with his shirt off, you can just say that.
