In the midst of two wars and an intensifying economic meltdown, Barack Obama had to take time off last week to answer questions from federal prosecutors investigating charges that the governor of Illinois had put the president-elect's former Senate seat up for sale. With his own lawyer by his side, Obama sat down Thursday with U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald's staff to tell what, if anything, he knew about Gov. Rod Blagojevich's efforts to cash in on appointing Obama's Senate successor

The story leads with “In the midst of two wars and an intensifying economic meltdown”

What does *that* have to do with this. Oh man, they are at it again — preparing the cover story...right-wing conspiracy distracted us from the *real* issues.

MSM is laughably transparent.

Can we name any good people Zero hangs out with? His 2 daughters are the only ones I can list. They are probably nice kids. Haven’t been forced to drink the Kool Aid yet.

This is how the communist leaders do it.

Patience, Patience Toespi. The wheels of justice grind slowly, etc. I'd like to know how many of you believe Emanuel mentioned Jarret's name as a senatorial candidate to the governor's office without Obama's knowledge?

Amen! WHERE IS the Republican leadership decrying the fact that the President -elect (and his fancy pres-elect office) is surrounded by an investigation??

Is there any Republican willing to stand up?

Well, you know Obozo had his own investigation. That way he knew what he had to cover up.

This is rich.

Can you imagine the media onslaught that would be in effect if this were a Republican President-elect?

Did he actually have to answers questions from a federal prosecutor or did he just have his lawyer,Gregory Craig prepare a report after he spoke with each of the transition staff.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/2151323/posts?page=175#175

From Craig cover letter To Obama:
“At your direction, I arranged for transition staff to provide accounts of any contacts that they may have had with Governor BLagojevich or his office in which the subject of your seccessor came up.”

That doesn’t sound like they were being interviewed by a federal prosecutor to me.

I would assume the FBI was about to set the hook in obama when the investigation was derailed.

I'm waiting for that idiot, John McCain to vouch for obama and go after those reprehensible rumor mongers like you and me.

This must be a mistake. Obama already cleared himself.

Feds were already looking at Obama on other pay to play information...Infact there was a petition to impeach him from the Senate because of one.

Isn't that beyond irritating?

I swear everyone on Fox says it at least three times whenever they mention it..."No one is saying obama is in anyway implicated...no one is saying obama is guilty of anything...The Prosecutor has already said obama has done nothing wrong."

Ugh!

In the midst of two wars and an intensifying economic meltdown

First Obama is not President yet and hence has ZERO power to do anything on these issues. Second the AP is telling us how dare the investigators question Obama.

The media supports Obama more than he supports himself. That is the simplest way to explain the most disgusting media behavior.

President Bush is also very fit - perhaps more impressively than O - but he doesn’t prance around for this kind of publicity shot.

Obama has nice tits; therefore, as a hunk he falls a bit short.
