Terrible news... I’m sure this will not be the last such incident.

I said a few days ago that the ripples from L’Affaire Madoff had already shortened the lives of many older people, and would probably result in suicides like this one, which I would hold Madoff criminally responsible for, exactly as if he murdered this man. Therefore, Madoff should be executed, since their is NO DOUBT he knew what he was doing, and the effect it could and would have on people. He is NO DIFFERENT from a murderer. He should pay the price. THAT, and THAT ALONE would send a message.

It would be nice if some of our bankers would feel that bad about the money they lose.

Why didn’t he just wait for the inevitable government bailout? We all know that it’s coming.

Suicide or unhappy clients of “Access International Advisors” blaiming him for losing their money?

My husband is surprised someone didn’t take Madoff “out” when he was on the street a few days ago....and thinks he should be executed....soon.

To coin a phrase.
It would have been more traditional.

Some of these hedge fund operators and charity boards who have earned big bucks did NOTHING except take money and funnel it to Madoff to do the "work".
Lucrative jobs where you are nothing more than a useless middle-man shoveling cash from one party to another.
Their problem now is that they shoveled the cash to a predator and now their lack of due diligence is exposed to the world.

Too bad we can't go farther back for our traditions.
Frank Pentangeli: Yeah... They went home... and sat in a hot bath... opened up their veins... and bled to death... and sometimes they had a little party before they did it.

Mr. de la Villehuchet had been trying to recover the money that Access International raised in Europe and invested through Mr. Madoffs business, La Tribune reported. So, I take it that Access International will not be getting its money back now.

Hmmm?
May I play Devil’s Advocate for a second?
Thanks.
Madoff is what he is — a raving psychopath. As long ago as 1999 warning bells were going off about this shady character yet the lazy, greedy and the wealthy (usually all three in one person) kept sending their money his way because of rumors heard in the Country Club and accepted Madoff’s bogus finanical statements on face value sometimes for YEARS without investigation.
So what if a few fat cats have to go a diet?
I’ll play the world’s smallest violin for them.
