LA Times Opines There Are Too Many Catholics, Jews and Mormons in Congress
LA Times ^ | 12/21/08 | Andrew Malcolm

When the 111th Congress convenes on Jan. 6, Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus will be underrepresented in its membership.

No shocker there perhaps. But a new analysis of incoming members' religious affiliations by the Pew Forum indicates there's no small measure of change in Congress' religious ties: It's much more diverse than just half a century ago.

The article itself is harmless. It comments on a new Pew report (Click here for report.) about the religious affiliations of the new Congress. However, if you go to the front page of the LA Times website, the link to the article is titled: "Catholics, Jews, Mormons overrepresented in Congress, study finds."

Here's a picture of it:

Warms your heart, doesn't it? A wave of violent attacks on California's religious community for exercising their right to vote and the LA Times is fanning the flames by implying that there are too many members of Congress who are members of the religions that voted to ban gay marriage. I would say it is unbelievable but, sadly, these days it just isn't.

Well, that’s something to be thankful for.

Well, I suppose Congress could pass a bill (or Obama could sign an E.O.) to require quotas on themselves.

The MSM is an ass.

The LA Times continues the secular progressive assault on Christianity, Judaism. They won’t be happy until all Americans are bi-sexual, Baal worshippers.

Muslims are overrepresented in the incoming Presidency. Only a few percent of the population, they are 100% of that office.

Maybe they wish there were more Protestants. That would be more like the old days.

If you look at the actual Pew Report, the difference between the percentages for Buddhists, Muslims and Hindus in society vs. in Congress is, at worst, .2%.

Who is the paper going to go after if that happens?

So I guess what they are asking: are there too many Jews, Cathlics and Mormons in the USA? Or are they asking: What’s with all the religious people? hmmm...maybe because it represents America!

You do realize gays hate bi-sexuals since being bi suggests that it is a choice.

Don’t let it bother you. If anyone cared what the LA times thought, they wouldn’t be on the verge of collape :) God deals with EVERYONE and EVERYTHING in His own time. I am looking forward to certain days of reckoning for sure.

What do they care? They want to separate religion from government anyway.

May I opine as well that there are too many liberals and atheists in the LA Times.

Aztec priests are under represented too, but after they cut out enough hearts of the opposition party the numbers will kind of even out.
