For many years now we have sought you daily. We have done this not only out of obedience in praying for our leaders - but out of confidence in Your sovereignty. Now, as winter envelopes this great land, we draw even closer to You for fear of what is to come, yes, but also because of that same confidence in the God whom we serve.
The closing days of the Bush administration are upon us. In one month, barring anything dramatic such as a Supreme Court ruling against Obama's eligibility, President Bush and First Lady Laura will be going back to Texas. Until that time, I pray You would bless their hearts with peace and joy. May they know the times that they served successfully in Your eyes and rest in that commendation. And may they forgive themselves for times when they didn't follow You all the way. They have had tremendous burdens, and they were the right people at the right time.
Bless President Bush with Your wisdom in this transition period. The world is still an ugly place regardless what is going on in the US. May he stay one step ahead of our enemies and have the knowledge and courage to do what is right.
Go with us the rest of this day. And may our lives be glorifying to You in each and every way. We love You Lord. Please save America.
It is in the blessed name of Jesus that I pray these things, Amen.
Ping for prayer
Prayers for our troops as well. Amen.
Please bless , protect and guide them with Your Mighty Hand, I pray in Jesus Name, amen.
Thank You Father God for the leadership of this president. He has done Your work. I ask You to bless him and keep him safe.
One of our most beloved Christmas carols was written in 1865 by William Dix, an Englishman who managed a maritime insurance company and loved to write hymns. Sung to the English melody Greensleeves, some versions use the latter half of the first verse as a chorus for the other verses:
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard
and angels sing;
Haste, haste to bring Him laud
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
But in other versions, each stanza is unique. The second verse, rarely sung today, looks beyond the manger to the cross:
Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christian, fear, for sinners here,
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
Simeon said to Mary, This Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed (Luke 2:34-35).
Thank You, Lord, for Jesus, who came to us as a gift. A gift of life, of grace, of Your undying love for us, who do not deserve it.
Thank You, Lord, for seven years of peace, in the midst of terrorism. Peace through a gentle saint, one who abides through You, President George Walker Bush.
Thank You, for heroism, and faith, as shown through our warriors, Your warriors, who have overcome evil in Iraq, and, for the first time in many years, there is a Christian celebration there.
We know we sit among those that have fought against you. We know that they must go through the fire. We will abide, as this country is cleansed, punished and brought to its knees before You.
Whether we survive this dilemma does not matter, for we know that we belong to You. Our future is in You, Father.
We praise Your name, this day. Amen
Prayers sent forth to our leaders, troops in arms, and veterans who have served this country in the name of God.
God bless America!
(mrs. alpha)
Amen.
God bless you Mrs Alpha!
Thank you Lord for President George W. Bush and First “lady” Laura Bush, and for the people they are, and for giving us someone to look up to in the oval office.
Protect them from their enemies, and please protect our Country from it’s enemies, and Be with our Troops as they fight to protect our Freedoms.
Thank you for all the Blessings of Liberty. Amen.
Amen. Wonderful prayer and great scripture choice. Thank you.
