I voted YES on Prop 8 so I guess when we vote for something in this state, its meaningless.
We've reached a point in this country where every American must do some serious soul searching. My opinion on this subject is that I have always been a law-abiding citizen because I have respected the idea that the law is an extension of the will of the people, even when I don't agree with a particular law. However, the very moment when I no longer have even the least amount of say in how my own government governs because that government has decided that I am a subject rather than a citizen, I will no longer consider the government to be legitimate. What to do with an illegitimate government is, of course, a question to be discussed in private, but we have a proud history in this country to guide us, and an obligation to carry on a fight that was begun by our forefathers.

Hey, in a time like this,it’s a great way to save money on elections and legislative salaries. Just have the Supreme Court decide everything!

Your post is one of the best that I have ever read on a message board. You are EXACTLY right.

I will no longer consider the government to be legitimate. What to do with an illegitimate government is, of course, a question to be discussed in private, but we have a proud history in this country to guide us, and an obligation to carry on a fight that was begun by our forefathers. The moment the government allows abortion or promotes homosexuality, it delegitimizes itself.

"What to do with an illegitimate government is, of course, a question to be discussed in private, but we have a proud history in this country to guide us, and an obligation to carry on a fight that was begun by our forefathers."Which is precisely why the first impulse of liberals and anticonstitutionalists is to restrict the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Watch for the first acts of Barry Obama's regime.

America is going to grow some domestic secessionist parties if this nonsense carries on.
