Im confused - so someone please help.

This is the way I see things...

Couples don't get married ... individuals do.

One married, they become a couple.

All individuals can get married.

Where is the problem?

Here is a quote from someone who knows more about the law than the attorney general.
"Another Hastings professor, Calvin Massey, invoked the court's 1978 ruling upholding the death penalty as a reason that the Prop. 8 challenge should fail. "'I can't think of any more fundamental right than to not have my government put me to death,' he said. 'That was found to be an amendment, not a revision."

Why bother voting anymore if libs can have the majority’s will overturned by some judge, even Constitutional amendments, state or federal.

Be simpler to void Brown.

Jerry Brown? How old is this guy? He was a dinosaur 40 years ago.

Brown knows that in CA the 48 percent is the REAL majority, because it is organized, disciplined and “taking names”. The other 52 percent ate disorganized, undisciplined, and oblivious to most things around them.

“Brown filed a brief Friday saying the measure, which amended the California Constitution to limit marriage to a man and a woman, is itself unconstitutional because it deprives gay couples of a fundamental right.”

Socialists LOVE the people. The unwashed masses. The voter. Until that voter votes the “wrong way.” In that case the vote must be nullified and the voter (yet again) thumbed in the eye. But this IS California. I fully expect that even after doing this to the little guy the Socialists love SO much, Brown will be re-elected by a supermajority.

If we are to preserve our form of government, Jerry Brown must be recalled. He has forfeited his office, by directly contradicting his duty to the people of California.

the left now feels it is entitled to use thug tactics to get what they want in this country. Opponents (us) need to do one of two things, either get organized to call them on their tactics or step down in the gutter and play with the same tactics.

These are the very same politicians who wish to serialize ammunition, and to have all hand loaders destroy their unserialized ammunition by 2011....

If they keep up this assault on the integrity of the vote, the constitution, the sanctity of marriage, run deficit budgets due to spending on illegal aliens and continue to push the wrong buttons on citizens - one may think they are attempting a unique technique to “collect” all that nasty unserialized ammunition...ahead of the 2011 timeframe.

CWII no longer seems like such an impossible or radical concept.

Actually marriage is not a right. It is a privilege. Age, health, and prior marriage(s) can prevent issuance of a marriage license by the state. Just as you do not have a right to drive, you do not have a right to marry.

The litigation over Proposition 8 is shaping up, Brown said, as a high-stakes conflict between the electorate's right to direct democracy and rights of minorities to equal treatment.

Am I the only one who has a BIG problem with this statement?

That's a polite way of saying, he's a skid mark.

If they want to void this one, why not just void all of em?

I mean really, it's just not fair!

These people are PATHETIC!

California has become a state for the Legislature, no longer for the people. Californians vote and pass these measures, and then Sate Government reverses the will of the people again.. and again.. and again.
